3rd person POV:

It was a mistake.

Giving taehyung a chance was a mistake, and jungkook realised that in the 1 week they had before the court hearing.

He loved taehyung, that's for sure.. even though the part of his life hurt.. it was still a very important part of his life. But maybe not as much as he did, after having a lash out on him, voicing out everything he has been through to him, to himself.. he realised so many things in past 2 weeks.

This isn't what he wants anymore. Being with taehyung isn't something he wants anymore, he can see taehyung is indeed on his way to love him, not completely, but he is.. but being with him makes him unconsciously want to be someone he's not.

It reminds him of the torment he had gone through from last 3 years.

In the last week, once taehyung tried touching jungkook.. with consent, he let him but before things could proceed.. jungkook unconsciously stopped him becsyse he was scared again that taehyung will moan jungwoon's name again.. and he has no will or strength to go through that again.

The fear stays, no matter how much he tries to trust taehyung.. it does stay. And it makes his heart hurt, remembering everything. He doesn't know if he can experience that again, not at all.

Taehyung once went outside for an important business deal which was followed by a party afterwards, even though taehyung did say he will come home right away after the meeting.

There was this fear in jungkook's heart again that he will return home drunk and will starting chanting about jungwoon again, will start throwing stuff again and he would have to clean and hurt himself even though his body isn't supporting any physical work right now.

He realised how he can barely face jungwoon right now, after all that happened.. he somehow unconsciously started hating his own twin brother who had just wanted good for him but that ended up backfiring.

Jungkook had somehow found a jungwoon and taehyung's couple photo laying around which might have fell when taehyung locked away all his stuff earlier.

The urge to torn that photo had been so strong, he almost did exactly that.. but he got a grip on himself and placed it away again.

No. He can't tolerate hating on his late twin brother, the brother who had always wanted nothing but happiness for him, the brother who had raised him when their parents weren't there, the brother who had taken him in even when he got married because he knew how scared jungkook was of being alone, the brother who knew about his feelings for his husband yet he trusted him to stay with them, the brother who had been an absolute angel to everyone, the brother who was anything but hatable. He wouldn't allow that.

Taehyung has been trying his best to be a good lover to him since last 1 week. But there's one thing that icks jungkook. He's too damn conscious about everyhing he does. He's too conscious at anything he does, that he doesn't make a mistake. When only thing he has to do his best in is, not comparing him to jungwoon.

You know when you love someone, you don't have to force things.. they come on their own. It should just be jungkook, the name that's on the tip of the tongue.

But jungkook gets him, you can't just stop loving someone completely, someone you have loved from years and years without any bounds. He doesn't blame him.

No, taehyung has never mentioned jungwoon this past 1 week..not at all. But he has been trying too hard to not say his name at all. Jungkook had noticed that. You can't just forget someone, or try to forget someone who's been there for you your entire life in the best way possible.

This is not right. Its not working out, he has had a good week here. But.. it's just not meant to be.. it never was. Taehyung and jungwoon were a couple who were meant to be, but not meant to last. But taehyung and jungkook.. them getting married was a mistake in the first place, they both knew that. They both were in love, crazily in love.. just not with each other.

And now.. it's time for them to heal.. without each other. Taehyung needs to move on.. from jungwoon.. and jungkook needs to move on.. from taehyung. Its needed.

"I hope you have a happy life ahead, Jeon Jungkook. I hope you find someone who loves you like you deserve." Taehyung said with a slight smile, even though there were tears in his eyes that were threatening to spill as he forwarded his hand for a handshake.

"I hope you have a happy life too, Kim taehyung hyung. I hope you get the chance to experience loving someone again." Jungkook said as he shook his hands as well, before pulling him in a hug.. for the last time.

"I am sorry for e-everything, jungkook." Taehyung cried silently before pulling away and wiping his eyes.

"I'm sorry for everything too, hyung." Jungkook apologised as he wiped his own tears as well.

Those were the last words they said to each other before they turned away, and went their own ways.

On their journeys to heal.

5 years later..

"Such a horny bunny, oh my god." Jimin gasped dramatically as he pointed at the couple who was making out while he himself snuggled into his fiance.. Kim taehyung while they laughed at the couple who were making out in the corner of the room, Jeon Jungkook and Kim seokjin.

They have no idea how they all ended up like this.

One second jungkook and taehyung got divorced, and seokjin suggested jungkook that he can stay with him while he finds a good apartment.. and they don't know when it happened.. but 5 years later, they are married and happily in love.

And taehyung, well.. it all happened when he decided to leave the country for two years because every place here seemed to have a memory with someone, and there he had found his highschool friend park jimin.. they don't know how it clicked but they ended up something more and they are happily in love as well, park jimin gave Kim taehyung another chance at love wholeheartedly.

Both seokjin and jimin are aware of the past between two, but since the four of them are neighbours.. might as well get along, now they all are bestest friends. With jimin being jungkook's bestie and seokjin being taehyung's.

Today it's a party taehyung and jimin had thrown in the celebration of both jimin and taehyung proposing to each other at the same time.

And no one is surprised when seokjin and jungkook have occupied a place for themselves in the corner as jungkook climbs onto the elder's lap while they makeout heavily and shamelessly, the couple is very known for their pda in their friendgroup.

They both are glad they got their happy endings, even though they are not with each other.. its for the better.
