Chapter Twelve: Forever

Slight sex scene at the end, very easy to skip though!
(Not super "graphic" in my opinion but it is still descriptive. More of a gentle love making scene, if that makes sense!)

Eddie had been back home for a year and a half now. For the most part she was functioning pretty well. She had the occasional bad day but it wasn't anything Jamie couldn't handle. She still went to counseling a few times a month as well. She was off all the meds except for the occasional sleep pill. The two had become inseparable again, like no time had passed. On Eddie's birthday Jamie wanted to propose to her. They'd been dating for a few months now, and one day after work Jamie stopped by the jewelry store
"How can I help you sir?" The salesmen asked
"I'm looking for an engagement ring" Jamie said
"oh we have plenty of those right over here" he said
"what kind does she like? We have plenty of styles" he said
        Jamie knew Eddie would be happy with anything. He looked at the different rings and he wanted to get her something nice.
"what about that one?" Jamie asked
"that one is one of our most popular, we got some
in stock just the other day" he said as he got the ring out of the case
      Jamie looked at the ring. It was small in size but still a good sized diamond. It would look beautiful on her hand. The band was silver with some trim
"I think I like this one" Jamie said
"would you like a box?" he asked
"sure, thanks" Jamie said
"all right, there is your total and you can swipe your card and I'll be back with the ring" he said
Jamie got out his wallet and credit card and he paid for the ring
"here you go sir, and good luck!" he said handing him a small box
"thanks, have a great day" Jamie said

It was Eddie's birthday and Jamie had the day off, and he got up early to decorate the apartment with balloons and ribbons. Before she woke up, he had put the ring in a birthday bag was going to give it to her first. It was around nine when she finally got up. She woke up and saw the bag sitting there
"Happy birthday beautiful" he said
"awww Jamie!" she said
"you can open this one first. It's just a small something" he said
She sat up in the bed and began taking the tissue paper out of the bag and she saw the small box
"no, is this what I think it is!?" She asked
"Eddie Marie Janko, would you Marry me?" Jamie asked as he took the box from her and showed her the ring
"Yes! Yes!!!" she said as she began to cry
"Jamie this is so beautiful!" she said
"thank you!!!" she said
He put the ring on her finger and they hugged each other and then she kissed him
"I love you" he said
"I love you too, always!" she said
"I wonder if your Mom will notice the ring" he said
"sometimes she notices things, sometimes it takes her a while" Eddie laughed
"I'm gonna shower and then I'll be downstairs in a bit" she said
"alright I'll start some breakfast" he said
"see you soon, Mrs. Reagan" he said
"I could get used to the sound of that" she said smiling
Eddie went to the bathroom where she got out a purple dress to wear and she put the ring on her jewelry box. She undressed from her pajama's and got in the shower once the water was warmed up

Jamie was downstairs making pancakes and bacon when Lena got up as well
"wow the decorations look great!" Lena said
"well it's Eddie's first birthday back home, so I want to make it special" he said
"I'll go get some of her gifts that I have in my room" Lena said
Jamie finished breakfast and Eddie was out of the shower and she'd come into the kitchen
"wow you look beautiful" Jamie said
"is the dress okay?" she asked
"Eddie you look beautiful" Jamie said
Jamie, Eddie and Lena all ate breakfast and then they did Eddie's cake. Jamie got the cake out of the fridge and lit the candles
"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday Dear Eddie! Happy Birthday to you!!!" Jamie and Lena sang
"make a wish" Lena said
        Jamie took a photo of Eddie blowing out her candles. After he cut the cake they all three ate a piece. It was chocolate cake, which was her favorite. After they were done eating before they started on presents, Eddie couldn't wait anymore to show her Mom her new ring
"Mom, did you notice something about my outfit?" she said
"no, I like the dress though. It's very pretty" Lena said smiling
"you don't notice anything about the jewelry?" she asked smiling at Jamie
"oh my gosh! You have a ring on!!!!!" she finally said
"when did this happen!?" she asked
"this morning when I got up, Jamie surprised me" she said
"I'm very happy for you sweetheart. You deserve the world!" Lena said as she hugged Eddie
"thanks Mom" Eddie said
         As Eddie opened her gifts, she was so thankful for everything. Her Mom had gotten her a few new purses and some clothes, and Jamie had gotten her some jewelry and a gift card to her favorite restaurant.
