         Eddie had been rescued from her living hell almost five years ago now and she and Jamie had been married for almost three years and they were expecting their first child together. They also had moved out of Eddie's Mom's place and got their own apartment after they got married. Being pregnant and becoming a mother was the most beautiful and amazing experience. Eddie of course still had bad days but for the most part, she was happy and healthy. She and Jamie had a regular sex life which also surprised her after what had happened. The first few times were scary and uncertain, but she trusted Jamie more then anyone else.
        Within this time Eddie had gone back to school as well and became a police officer and helps young woman in the Special Victims Unit. She loved helping the young girls. She believed every one of their stories and helped their families cope the best she could. She also wanted to write a book about her life. How such a horrible situation could turn out okay. She and her Mom had become closer then ever, but she never saw her Dad again.
Eddie was about five and a half, to six months pregnant and she was still going to work every day. She missed the action part of the job but she still got to interview the girls and file the paperwork. She was about the leave the office when a young girl came in, she looked scared and unsure
"is this special victims?" She asked
"yea it is. My name's Detective Reagan, what's yours?" Eddie asked her
"E... Emily Benton" the girl said
"well Emily do you wanna tell me what happened?" Eddie asked as she led the girl to her desk
"I... I'm a college student and of course my friends dragged me to this party last night" she said
"I'm pretty sure I was raped" she said
"can you remember anything about the night?" Eddie asked
"I remember my friends and I were dancing with this guy. He seemed nice, he got us a few beers" she said
"maybe half an hour after that it got fuzzy. I guess he put something in my drink" she said
"I remember being shoved onto a bed.... he ripped my skirt and pulled my underwear down. It hurt. I just felt pain... I was too drunk to fight back. That's the last thing I remember" she said
"where was your friend in all of this?" Eddie asked
"I don't know" she said
"I woke up with blood on my legs and my underwear was gone" she said
"have you taken a shower at all? We can retrace evidence up to forty eight hours" Eddie said
"no" she said
"alright. I'll call you a bus okay? Do you want someone to go with you?" Eddie asked
"can you?" Emily asked
"unfortunately I'm not allowed to right now. I have a little one coming so I'm on desk duty" Eddie said
"oh well congratulations!" Emily said
"thanks! Let me see if another detective can go with you" Eddie said
"do you have parents we can call?" Eddie asked
"please don't call my parents. They'll say it was my fault because I got drunk" she said
"it is never your fault" Eddie said firmly
"the bus will be here in less then five minutes. I'll take you to my friend whose also a detective" Eddie said as they went down the hall
"Hey Reagan what are you still doing here?" Detective Watson asked
"Hey Watson, I have a girl whose been raped. She's waiting on a bus... she just told me her story but since I'm on desk duty I can't go to the hospital with her" Eddie said
"say no more. I'll go with her" Watson said
"you're in good hands" Eddie said
"thank you... and thank you for believing me" Emily said
"Check back in with me later. I'd love to get an update on your case" Eddie said handing her a business card
      Eddie grabbed her suitcase and purse and texted Jamie on the way out
Eddie: hey! sorry, last minute interview. Getting a cab and will be home soon!!!
Jamie: you're fine. Just finishing up. How about pizza tonight?
Eddie: pizza sounds amazing!!! I'm starving
Jamie: see you soon 💜
          Eddie got a cab and was home in fifteen minutes. She got home before Jamie so she took her shower and changed into her evening clothes.
"there's my beautiful girl" Jamie said
"mmm this smells good!" Eddie said staring at the pizza box
"I see someones hungry" Jamie teased
"hey I am eating for two" she said gently rubbing her stomach which made Jamie smile
"how was work?" Jamie asked her
"good but tiring. Some poor girl got assaulted at a college party, that's why I was late" Eddie said
"oh... will she be okay?" Jamie asked her
"I think so. It might take some time but I told her to let me know how she is" Eddie said
"how was your day?" Eddie asked
"busy and stressful, nothing unusual" he said
       Jamie got out a beer from the fridge and they ate their pizza together. Eddie shoveled in about four pieces along with some vanilla ice cream.
"I'm stuffed now" she said
"I'm gonna grab a shower and then we can relax for the night" Jamie said as he kissed her
