Jeonghan's Forced Marriage

Chaper 1

'Jeonghan-ah!'

'Ne appa!'

'Wear something nice tonight. There is a company dinner and I want to introduce you to somebody'

'Ne~'

Jeonghan wasn't impressed how his father would always bring him to company dinners to 'introduce' him to somebody.

Everyone he met before were old men with protruding bellies, wearing tight suits with buttons that seemed to be holding on for their poor life.

Jeonghan put on his best suit and headed downstairs.

'My son looks really good!'

Mrs Yoon straightened Jeonghan's suit and tightened his tie.

'Eomma, do you know who appa wants to introduce me to tonight? I hope it is someone interesting... not those typical old men'

'Yoon Jeonghan! Don't be mean. Those typical old men are the reasons our company was able to do well' Mrs Yoon jokingly scolded Jeonghan while she air quoted 'typical old men'.

(Time skip)

Jeonghan followed behind his father as they went around greeting the different company stakeholders.

'You can go to your friends for now. When the other family comes, I will call you over again'

'Ne~'

Jeonghan immediately ran to his friends, careful not to collide with the waiters who held trays of drinks for the people.

'Jeonghan hyung!' His friends greeted him as they saw him approaching.

'Hey! I haven't seen you guys in so long! How have you all been?'

They were all sons of different business man and since all their fathers were partners and would meet regularly, they all became friends.

There was the Lee Family (Lee Industry) of Lee Jihoon, Lee Seokmin and Lee Chan, the Choi Family (Choi Ventures) of Choi Seungcheol and his cousin Chwe Vernon, the Jeon Family (Jeon Medical) of Jeon Wonwoo, the Xu Family (Xu-Wen Properties) of Xu Minghao and his step-brother Wen Junhui, the Hong Family (Hongs) of Joshua Hong, the Kwon Family (Kwon State) of Kwon Hoshi, the Boo Family (Boo Dime) of Boo Seungkwan and lastly, the Kim Family (Kim Holdings) of Kim Mingyu.

Mingyu's family was late so for now, it was only the 12 of them.

'Anyone knows what's the big occasion tonight? Dad told me to dress well'

'What do you mean he told you to dress well? It's a company dinner! Of course you have to dress well!'

'But Dad never has to tell me'

Seungcheol gave up arguing with Jeonghan and just left to get them some drinks from the nearby waiter.

'Hyung, I heard the Kim's Family daughter has finally returned from abroad'

Jeonghan turned to the voice and saw Seungkwan.

'Really? Mingyu's sister is finally back?'

'Yeah! I heard someone mentioning that Minji is back'

'Jeonghan! Come here! The last family is finally here'

Jeonghan excused himself from Seungkwan and went to join his father who was shaking hands with Mingyu's father.

'Mr Kim, this is my son, Yoon Jeonghan'

'Good evening Mr Kim, nice to meet you' Jeonghan shook hands with Mr Kim.

'As you know, this is my son Mingyu' Jeonghan nodded his head at Mingyu to acknowledge him even though they were friends.

'And this is my daughter Minji' A girl wearing a long black dress shook Jeonghan's hands while keeping her eyes low.

Jeonghan couldn't see her face but still shook her hand.

'Mingyu-ya can you take care of your sister while I go get the others?'

'Of course' Mingyu wrapped his arm around Minji's shoulder and pulled her towards their friends.

'Everyone! This is my sister Kim Minji'

'Annyeonghasaeyo'

Minji bowed slightly and hid behind Mingyu.

*Cling cling cling*

Everyone turned their attention to Mr Kim and Mr Yoon on stage.

'Good evening everyone! Hope you are all enjoying today's company dinner. I have 2 announcements to make, at which one will be made by Mr Yoon. The first announcement is that my daughter, Kim Minji, is finally back in Korea!'

There was a loud cheer while Minji just awkwardly smiled at everyone, still hiding behind Mingyu.

'Next announcement, Mr Yoon'

'Thank you Mr Kim. The next announcement is that my son, Yoon Jeonghan, will be getting married to Mr Kim's daughter, Kim Minji, next month'

'I WILL WHAT?!' Jeonghan exclaimed in shock.

All his friends were equally confused. Even Mingyu and Minji. There were murmurs heard but nothing distinctguishable to understand.

Jeonghan looked at his parents and was met with pleading eyes.

*Ding!*

Jeonghan's phone chimed.

Eomma: We will explain at home ok? Please just play along for now...

Jeonghan sighed and kept his phone, nodding at his mother who smiled weakly at him.

'Hyung, did you know about this?' Mingyu whispered to Jeonghan.

'No. My parents didn't say anything about this. You?'

'They only said they would announce Minji's marriage today but they didn't say it was one of my friends. Even if it was, I thought it would be like Seungcheol hyung or Wonwoo hyung, just... not you'

'What is wrong about me?!'

Jeonghan and Mingyu weren't exactly friends. They were in the same friend group but just not the closest. They were very different people. Or at least, that was what Mingyu felt. Mingyu cherished people even if they were not family, whereas Jeonghan was a player. He cared for his family but anyone else was just a toy to him. Jeonghan dated many girls and boys in high school and even while he was working, there have been rumours of him having multiple flings across different sectors and industries. Jeonghan was simply just opening his arms wide for anyone who wanted him.

'I won't let my sister date a playboy like you'
