Jeonghan's Forced Marriage

Chapter 5

(Fast forward a few months)

Jeonghan and Minji still slept in different rooms but besides that, they still behaved like normal husband and wife. Minji would prepare meals for Jeonghan while Jeonghan worked. Jeonghan always acted cute in front of Minji, leaving her flustered. He would run to her for hugs, demand for kisses and sometimes just pull her onto his lap and rest his chin on her shoulder.

Minji never felt anything was wrong. They were indeed husband and wife except for in bed.

'Minji-ya~ do you want to watch a movie tonight?' Jeonghan suddenly suggested while he was working in the office.

'What movie?'

'I'll keep it a secret ok? Just wait for me in the movie room tonight. I'll prepare all the popcorn and stuff'

'Eung~'

Jeonghan packed his documents and went to the nearest movie shop to buy a movie disc.

'Annyeonghasaeyo, may I rent Train to Busan?'

He wanted to pick a scary movie but he was afraid Minji wouldn't like it, ruining his movie plan.

'Yeobo~ I'm home!'

'Palli come up! I want to see the movie you chose!'

'Promise me you won't hate me even if you don't like the movie?'

'Yes!!! Now palli~~' Minji grabbed Jeonghan's hand and pulled him towards the movie room.

She helped Jeonghan hang his coat while Jeonghan inserted the disc into the system.

'Train to Busan? Seriously?'

'You watched it before?'

'No, but I heard its slightly scary and sad'

'We can do something else if you want?' Jeonghan's heart sank.

'No no no it's ok'

'Really?'

Minji nodded and pecked his cheek. Jeonghan played the movie and sat beside Minji, both of them huddled together under the blanket that they both shared.

Occasionally, Minji would hide her face in Jeonghan's shoulder to prevent herself from the scary scenes. Jeonghan would laugh at her while patting her head, ensuring her it would be fine.

'Yoon Jeonghan!!' Minji lightly punched Jeonghan when the movie ended.

'Wae?? Why are you suddenly hitting me?'

'The ending was so sad 😭 Why didn't you find a show with a happy ending?'

'How would I know? We both had no idea what this show's ending was'

'Hmph! I'm going to sleep! Goodnight!' Minji stomped out of the room jokingly.

'No goodnight kiss?' Jeonghan whined.

Minji quickly ran back into the movie room and gave Jeonghan a light kiss on the lips. Before she could run away again, Jeonghan pulled her by the waist, pressing their lips closer together. Minji wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed back.

Jeonghan was about to deepen the kiss and slip his hand under her shirt but immediately stopped himself and pulled away.

'Go and sleep my angel. I'll clear the room'

'Thank you Hannie. Goodnight' Minji's face was flushed red but there was a smile on her face.

'Goodnight my angel'

Jeonghan cleaned up the room and switched off the lights and aircon before returning to his own room and climbing onto his bed to sleep.

*Poke poke*

'Hmm?'

*Poke shake shake*

'What?'

The shaking and poking suddenly stopped and Jeonghan thought he could finally peacefully sleep again but was disrupted when he heard a voice.

'Jeonghan...'

It sounded familiar.

'Hannie...'

Jeonghan opened his eyes at the nickname and saw his cute little wife hugging her pillow, standing in front of him. He reached out his hand to hold onto hers.

'What's wrong?'

'I...'

Jeonghan sat up and pulled her onto his lap.

'What's wrong?'

He wanted to stroke her cheek but when he felt how wet her cheeks were, he immediately understood.

'Did the movie scare you?'

Minji hesitantly nodded, feeling embarrassed at how she was such a scaredy-cat.

'Come here' Jeonghan patted the empty side of the huge bed that was originally meant for both of them to share.

Jeonghan stretched out his arm for Minji to lie on. As soon as Minji rested on his arm, he pulled her closer such that her body was curled up against his.

'I'm here. Don't worry'

Minji let out a contented sigh and closed her eyes, falling asleep almost immediately with Jeonghan's warmth.

Jeonghan looked at Minji sleeping soundly in his arms.

'I'm sorry my love. I may not be the best husband or the husband you expect me to be'
