Minji walked out of her room and went to find Jeonghan. She hoped he was in the guest room.
Knocking on the guest room door, she waited for a response but there was no sound.
She went around the house trying to find Jeonghan. She tried texting him but they was also no reply.
'Jeonghan?'
'Jeonghan?'
She kept calling his name but there was no response at all. Suddenly there was a thud sound from inside the guest room.
'Jeonghan!'
Minji ran to the room and kept knocking on the door. Still with no response, she used the spare key and barged into his room.
Jeonghan was lying on the floor, his arms and legs apart.
'Jeonghan!'
Minji panicked and hurried to his side. Taking out her phone, she dialed for an ambulance.
'Hold on Hannie! I'll get you an ambulance'
Before she pressed call, a hand stopped her.
'I'm fine'
'But what if you are injured?'
'I... I'
'You faked it right?'
Minji frowned and stood up immediately, ready to storm out of the room.
Jeonghan hurried to his feet and ran after her, hugging her from behind.
'Jagi... I'm sorry... Please don't leave again...'
Minji didn't move. She was pressed against Jeonghan's chest. She would be lying if she didn't miss being in his arms and that this action didn't make her heart flutter.
They stayed like that for a while. Jeonghan's chin resting on Minji's head, smelling the cotton candy shampoo scent that Jeonghan was addicted to.
'Let go off me Jeonghan'
'I'm sorry. I really am. Please... please don't leave'
'Jeonghan... please let me go...'
Minji's voice was strained and Jeonghan knew she was crying. He immediately released his hold on her. Minji wanted to run. Run far from the room but before her legs could even lift off, she collapsed.
Luckily, she was still in Jeonghan's hold and he immediately caught her.
'Minji! Minji!'
Jeonghan felt her forehead but she didn't have any fever.
He was about to call the doctor until he remembered Minji's health condition. He realised Minji was having her sudden low blood pressure and there was always the one or two blue moons that she would suffer a lot from the pain. What was worse was that Minji just ate a whole meal of potential health problems and their argument triggered her even more.
Minji loved the comfort of Jeonghan but was afraid of fainting so when she felt weak, she wanted to leave so that Jeonghan wouldn't know and wouldn't have to take care of her.
Of course Jeonghan didn't know this and he felt extremely guilty.
He shifted Minji onto the bed and tucked her under the fluffy duvet.
'I'm so sorry my angel'
Jeonghan left the room to take a bottle of warm compress, a jar of warm water, medicine, some of Minji's favourite snacks and a soft toy for her to hug.
He lifted one of her arms to gently place the bear without waking her up.
As he let go of her arm, Minji turned.
'Hannie, don't leave. Stay here with me'
'I can't Minji. You know I can't. Not when you're in this state'
'Hannie... I'm sorry for pushing you away earlier...'
Jeonghan couldn't stop himself anymore. All his willpower to stop himself from clinging onto Minji gave up the moment she apologised and called him Hannie.
He climbed onto the other side of the bed beside Minji and wrapped an arm around her waist, his other hand combing through her hair. Minji faced him and shifted closer to his body, her head and hand pressed on his chest.
'Please don't hate me anymore... I love you so much'
Minji wanted to say 'I love you back' but when she felt his heart rate increasing due to the confession, she decided to stay silent and continue listening to Jeonghan's heartbeat a little more.
She still loved Jeonghan but she was still afraid to be hurt again. Was Jeonghan really in love with her? Or was this going to be round 2 of bet?
Since they we in the guest room, the bed was a lot smaller as it was only meant for one person. Jeonghan gently lifted Minji's whole body and brought her back to her room where it was at least a queen sized bed.
Minji stopped clinging onto him so he got up and went to the living room. He ordered some Chinese food in case Minji got hungry when she woke up. He didn't trust himself to cook anymore. At least not to cook for her.
'Hannie? Baby? Jeonghan?'
Minji felt around the bed but could not find a single source of warmth. Jeonghan's side of the bed was already cold since he left long ago.
She started tearing up and curled herself into a ball, burying further into the blanket.
Jeonghan quietly entered the room, not expecting the sight in front of him. He ran to the shaking blanket and wrapped his arms around the shaking figure.
'Please don't cry... I shouldn't have left you alone'
Minji calmed down as Jeonghan's slowly rubbed her back. She looked up, her teary eyes meeting Jeonghan's sad eyes.
'You can tell me anything baby'
'Can... can we go for a walk?'
