Jeonghan's Forced Marriage

Chapter 2

Jeonghan stared out of the window, thinking back on what Mingyu said.

'I won't let my sister date a playboy like you'

Jeonghan never thought Mingyu felt that way towards him. He never felt bad though, for all the feelings he played. He got rid of the thought since he was just getting married to her and there would be no feelings attached.

They reached home and sat in the living room.

'Jeonghan, I'm sorry for the announcement. We can't tell you why we made this decision yet but you will find out eventually ok? Please agree to this...'

Jeonghan stayed silent. He didn't want to get married but he didn't want to go against his parents either.

'Can... Can I talk to Minji shii first? Before I agree?'

'Sure son. I'll invite them over tomorrow evening ok?' Mrs Yoon combed her hand through Jeonghan's hair.

Jeonghan nodded and left for his room.

(Mingyu side)

'Minji, please don't agree to this marriage'

'Why? Isn't Jeonghan your friend?'

'I won't ruin your image of Jeonghan but please let me just warn you please~'

'Oppa, let me decide ok? Trust me?'

Mingyu sighed and hugged his sister. He didn't want to hurt her but if she wanted to make her own decision, Mingyu would respect it.

(Next day at Yoon's house)

'Annyeonghasaeyo~' Minji and Mingyu greeted Mr and Mrs Yoon. Since Mr and Mrs Kim were busy, only the two kids came.

'Jeonghan! Mingyu and Minji are here!'

Jeonghan ran down the stairs to greet the two.

'Why don't you speak to Minji in private while Mingyu helps us to prepare dinner?'

Minji nodded at Mingyu and followed Jeonghan to sit on the couch while the rest went to the kitchen.

'Annyeonhaesaeyo, Yoon Jeonghan imnida. I'm 27'

'Annyeonghasaeyo, Kim Minji imnida. I'm 22'

There was awkward silence. Minji was naturally quiet but somehow Jeonghan just couldn't continue the conversation.

'Uh... Can... Do... Shall...Want to go on a date tomorrow?'

Minji looked at Jeonghan and nodded.

'Let's go eat' Jeonghan held out his hand for Minji.

Seeing Minji hesitate, Jeonghan retreated his hand and apologised, realising his actions made her awkward.

The moment they reached the dining hall, Mingyu went to his sister and checked that she was alright.

'Dude. Calm down. I won't hurt your sister. At least not yet' Jeonghan mumbled the last part to himself.

'What?' Mingyu raised his eyebrows.

'Nothing. Let's eat'

Mr and Mrs Yoon were extremely nice, making sure Mingyu and Minji had enough to eat.

'I'm going to take Minji on a date tomorrow. Get to know one another better you know'

Mingyu secretly rolled his eyes. He knew Jeonghan was just pretending.

'Minji-ya~ Make yourself comfortable'

'Ne~ Thank you Mrs Yoon'

(After dinner)

'Hey... Minji? Can I have your number? Just... just so I can text you the plan tomorrow? It's ok if you don't want to. I can give you my number or I can just text Mingyu or Mr and Mrs Kim. Oh why am I stuttering...'

Minji chuckled and just gave her phone number to Jeonghan.

'Thank you! I'll pick you up from Kim's residence tomorrow at... 10am?'

'Sure! See you tomorrow Jeonghan shii'

She bowed and bid goodbye to the Yoon family before leaving with Mingyu.

'Eomma, should I bring Minji to the beach? Or the movies? Oh how about the fun fair at night? We can do something in the day, have a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant then go to the fun fair'

'That sounds really good son! How about the a little nice breakfast? Then you can bring her to Han River for a stroll. The scenery is very nice for a date'

'Oh yeah! Let me go prepare the items. I hope Minji will enjoy it'

'Son, come here'

Jeonghan went to his mother and she wrapped his arms around him.

'Thank you son. Thank you for trying to agree to this marriage'

Jeonghan patted his mother's back.

He left his parents and headed to his own room.

I have planned our date for tomorrow but I'll keep the plan a secret for now if that's ok?

See you tomorrow!

Jeonghan smiled to himself. He couldn't wait to make Minji fall in love with him. He hoped tomorrow won't go wrong. If it went well, Minji would agree to marry him!
