Jeonghan's Forced Marriage

Chapter 7

'Jeonghannie' A voice called from his office door.

Jeonghan looked up and saw Seungcheol.

'I thought you left with everyone?'

'Not yet. I wanted to talk to you'

'Sure! What about?'

'Your marriage and your little bet with Jun'

Jeonghan was confused but still invited Seungcheol in to have a seat and got his assistant to prepare a drink for him.

'I know Mingyu and you aren't close but we are all still brothers and even though you are older, Mingyu still has every right to protect his sister from you. I don't want us to fall out just because of your decision to play around with this marriage'

'Cheol, you know I don't want this marriage. It wasn't even my marriage by choice. Wouldn't it be boring if I just led my life like a normal married couple with Minji even if I never loved her?'

'Han, please reconsider how you are going to treat her. We can tell how much she loves you and I don't want to know how this will turn out once your bet is over'

'Trust me. Has my playboy side ever messed up? No. I still have it in me Cheol'

'Fine. I can't seem to convince you but I hope this doesn't end too badly for the both of you'

'I'll see you around'

They bid farewell and Seungcheol left the office, disappointed that he was unable to convince Jeonghan otherwise.

Jeonghan leaned on his chair and fiddled with the pen in his hand.

'Seungcheol thought his words would make me back out from the bet? Tch!' Jeonghan laughed.

*Ding!*

Jeonghan looked at his phone notification.

Minji: I have thought of an idea
Minji: You shall find out tonight
Minji: I'll prepare dinner! Don't be too late or you
            won't get the surprise!
Minji: See you tonight! Love you~

Jeonghan: Looking forward to the surprise baby! See
you tonight
Jeonghan: Love you too~

Jeonghan continued going through his documents, reading, signing, approving.

He looked at the clock and realised it was close to 8pm.

He panicked and quickly packed his things and left the office. He would arrive home earliest half past 8 provided there was no traffic.

Jeonghan: Baby, I'm on my way home... Please don't get mad

Minji: It's fine. Take your time

Jeonghan: Jagi... I can tell you are pouting... please don't pout... I'll rush back as fast as I can ok?

Minji: Please be safe. I don't want anything to happen to you

Jeonghan: But what if I don't arrive in time for my surprise?

Minji: It will always be here waiting for you ok? Now drive safely and I'll see you soon

Jeonghan: Eung~

Minji: Drive safely! Bye!

Jeonghan: Bye love, see you soon!

They ended the call and Jeonghan anxiously tapped the steering wheel while Minji sighed and leaned against the couch to wait for her husband. She didn't blame him for being late since she knew he was a busy man but she still couldn't help to feel disappointed with her husband. Couldn't he relax for a day? Especially on his birthday?

He always worked hard at the office, going in early after breakfast and coming home just in time for dinner. After that, he would still review his work when sitting on the bed. Even amidst his busy schedule, he still called Minji often to ask how she was, what she wanted for dinner. Jeonghan didn't know that Minji knew whenever he snuck into her room when she was sleeping to cover her with the blanket and kiss her forehead, before whispering a 'Goodnight my love' into her ear.

*Keys jiggle*

Minji turned her head to see a panting Jeonghan opening the door.

'Why are you panting? You drove home'

Jeonghan immediately stopped panting and ran to hug Minji.

'I'm so sorry I'm late'

'Pretending to have ran home didn't work'

'I'm sorry'

'Let's go eat ok? We still need time for your surprise later. Go change and come back down while I heat up the food'

'Ne~'

Jeonghan ran fast while Minji went to the kitchen and set the food on the table.

'Thank you for dinner!' Jeonghan started eating.

Minji stared at him and smiled.

'Your welcome'

'Promise me the surprise will still happen'

'Yes calm down. I just hope you will love it'

'I'll love anything you give me'

'I hope so too'
