Chapter 20

On his way to make it back to shadow when gravity betrayed him, tails fell through the earth, his breath hitched no longer feeling solid ground beneath his shoes, not having enough reaction time to spin his namesakes to stop himself from harshly falling onto cold metal flooring

With a loud thud tails landed on his arm letting out a painful yelp tails looked around cradling his arm the room was dim and what was the only source of light, the way he fell through, was now shut closed, he whimpered attempting to stand up.

Tails was immediately shot back into a wall with great force he had a net around him tails struggled against it, didn't come loose one bit, that when he heard it the unmistakable crazed laughter that was closing in on him "well..well..well look what the cat dragged in" Eggman laughed hovering over to the poor fox in his Eggmobile  "Eggman i knew you were behind this, were's sonic!" Tails said trying to look menacing but failed "no need to be so feisty, shouldn't you really be wondering how i was able to find him" tails went silent now that he thought about it he never told the doctor exactly were they were going, so how did he know?

"Still dont know? Well does 'what great technology i find your work very fascinating' ring a bell" tails facial features showed doom eggman laughed at the foxes expression 'it was all his fault' tails thought as his head hung down in shame

Flashback

"Why dont we take a break my evil mind is killing me" Eggman said falling back into a chair they were still working in Eggmans lab pulling an all nighter trying to figure out the cure without rest "I'm not sure.. we've gotten so close.." tails said hesitantly looking away from the microscope "cmon beings as intelligent as us need rest too, how about we get something to eat" Eggman said "well maybe a little break wont hurt, but we have to get back to finding the cure immediately after-" "yeah yeah alright we will" Eggman interrupted "cubot, orbot! Get your sorry bolts in here!" Eggman yelled "coming doctor" the two poor robots called back "yes doctor" the red orb shaped robot said

"Get us some grub and make our guests extra special" Eggman said whispering the last part to the robot "what do you mean special?" Cubot said orbot facepalmed thats when he realized " ohh you mean we have to pu-" orbot quickly covered his "mouth" he laughed nervously as eggman glared at the two "on it sir" orbot said dragging the other out.

All this made tails suspicious so he kept his distance "ah that reminds me, I've seen very few of your brilliant inventions id like to hear about them" tails hesitated for a second "you want to hear about my inventions?" Tails said uncertainty laced in his voice "why of course the only time i get to see them is during battle and i must say they are very amazing" Eggman said "y-you really think so?" Tails said "of course" Eggman said with a grin, no one has really asked to see his inventions he's usually the one to bring it up first and when he would tell his friends they never really understood a thing he was saying but now he could tell them to someone who would and just the thought of it brought a smile to his face

Tails sat in a chair closest to the evil genus and once he opened his mouth about his inventions he couldn't stop he was genuinely happy to talk to someone who understood even if they were evil but now tails started to think he wasn't all that bad and surprisingly tails seemed to have Eggmans full attention

"We're back boss" cubot said as the iron door slid open revealing the two robots from before with a cart of food "exactly as you asked doctor" orbot said "good, now i want you to clean the entire base i dont even want to see a strain of hair in sight" the robots sighed "yes doctor" they both said simultaneously exiting the room once more

Once they were gone Eggman reached for the cart and handed over the little foxes well deserved sandwich tails smiled gladly accepting it taking it out the ziplock and dug in continuing on with what he was saying before as he did so careful not to talk while he was eating

Tails yawned

Thats weird he suddenly felt sleepy was it getting late? "Who would have known that your 'miles electric' you called it, would have so many uses, mind if i see it real quick" Eggman said tails yawned again handing his miles electric over to the doctor who looked at it with a sinister smile on his face

Tails vision started to blur he dropped his half eaten sandwich on the ground, "truly miles i really do find your work very fascinating" tails fell to the ground and passed out into a deep sleep the last thing he saw was Eggman fiddling around with his miles electric.

End of flashback

"You tracked me to get to my friends, didn't you?"

Oof- another cliffhanger

This chap was actually fun to write especially since i want to give my fav character some more screen time and i hope you enjoyed btw have yall seen sonic prime yet it was amazing
