Chapter 32

Shadow put the tip of the knife against the mans neck letting him know he wasn't messing around a drop of blood flowed down his throat "alright! Alright ill tell ya just back off!" The guy said in a bit of an accent raising his hands ever so slightly to show he gave up but shadow still hadn't moved the knife "speak." He said coldly

"My brother he just wanted to give these rich folk a scare i didn't mean for it to get this deep honest!" Shadow glared at him sinking the knife deeper unbelieving of the mans words "im telling the truth i didn't want to do this!" The man was shaking he seemed to be telling the truth shadow went into thought for a minute "where is your brother?" He questioned "im not sure exactly but he's trying to sabotage the party to get to the girl you know the one that got married? please let me go i swear i didn't want to get involved with all this" shadow rolled his eyes "how is he going to do it" shadow said ignoring the others pleading "i-i don't know he never told me he just said to deal with the detectives and get out".

Shadow debated on what to do he let go of the guy but he could still use him he wouldn't just let him get away when he still had part in a crime, shadow used his tie and restrained the mans arms behind his back it wasn't handcuffs but it would have to do for now he pulled the man to his feet rather harshly he wasn't particularly in a 'nice' mood he still felt rather annoyed with himself "so what's gonna happen to me am I going to prison?" Shadow nudged him to make him start walking "that's not entirely my place to decide-" shadow was cut off by the sudden blaring sound of alarms "what the hell.. what's going on?" Shadow yelled at the man "this must have been his distraction like i was telling you!" The sprinklers went off and the both of them were getting rained on "shit.." shadow was already frustrated there didn't need to be anymore add ons and with the fire alarms going off didn't help with his pounding headache

"What is he planning to do after the distraction?" Shadow yelled over the loud noises "i don't know he didn't fill me in on that"

Shadow cursed under his breath maybe he was wrong about this guy shadow pulled the man along practically dragging him by the collar of his shirt and he was rather tall so he was uncomfortably pulled down

"Shadow"

Shadows ears perked up once he heard his name he looked to the guy but it didn't seem like he said it shadow looked ahead still not understanding were that voice came from especially with the alarms echoing through his ears "shadow what are you still doing in here!" Within a blink of an eye someone grabbed shadow by the arm he snapped his head around to face the person which he was surprisingly glad to see such a familiar face "cmon let's get out of here" sonics grip on shadows arm tightened as he sped out of the empty building, once they were all out sonic let go of his arm but shadow held on which resulted in Sonic giving him a questioning look yet it seemed like he was expecting certain words from the other but when he didn't get a response he tilted his head confused

"Shads what is it? I kinda need to check if everyone got out alright" sonic said slightly tugging his arm back yet shadow still held on slowly gathering his words despite that he only mustered up a simple "I'm sorry" he said never looking away from sonic once, sonic gave him an annoyed look but nonetheless he still said sorry sonic gave shadow a small smile but he would most definitely annoy him later as revenge  "shads i-" a loud bang ran through the air catching the whole group of guests attention the two hedgehogs looked to the cause of the sound immediately were they saw Penelope being held hostage by the man but that couldn't be shadow looked back to the guy he was holding by the collar still back and forth wondering wether or not he was seeing things "thats him.. he's my brother" the man muttered under his breath.

The mans brother held his pistol back to Penelopes head after shooting his warning shot into the sky the crowd panicked Penelopes mother held onto her husband worried for their daughter's life while charles made a failed attempt to calm them

"I've given you both enough warnings Mr. And Mrs. Hansen, I'm taking your daughter" the brother said slowly backing away keeping his grip on Penelope tight with the gun forced against her noggin and once he exited the main gates a gray Honda civic pulled up picking the two up shadow looked for a license plate but it was taken off they must have been planning to put it back on once they hit the main road so no one knew who they were once the car began flooring it sonic chased after the vehicle, shadow who still held onto sonic had gotten the memo keeping the pace with the hedgehog and careful followed behind the car.
