Venus
My eyes still couldn't believe how big this place was, the queen told we were going to the main room and we've been walking for a while now. She said she'll show me around so I don't get lost, I don't understand why I'd get lost if I'm gonna be stuck to her side the whole time.
"Maximus spends his time with his counsellors, creating new laws as they please." The queen said sounding so exhausted with what her husband has been doing, we finally reached a wooden double door. She pushed it open into a very beautiful room the size of Atticus' whole house.
"This is my private room, I use it when I don't feel..." She stopped her sentence before I can know the reason why she has her own room when she's married. A little girl sitting at the balcony caught my attention, she was sitting in front of a table writing with what looked like a metal pen.
"Diana" The queen called for the girl who stood up quickly with a smile on her face, she ran to her mother who picked her up and gave her a tight hug.
"My darling, this is Venus and she'll be your new escort." The queen smiled at her little girl, even her smile was perfect. I realized that I haven't moved or said anything so I cleared my throat and looked down at the kid. She looked maybe around 9 or 10, but if she was 10 years old I wonder how old is her mom.
"Your highness" I bowed my head slightly, the kid just looked at me curiously. Her mom just rolled her eyes and put her hand on the kid's light brown hair.
"You have a strong body" she said with a suspicious look, I smiled and nodded my head not really knowing what to say to her. Because if I speak I'm gonna be disrespectful, I don't like kids. They annoy me.
"I worked in the field a lot" I finally replied, the kid looked at her mom confused and back at me.
"But you're a woman" she said with confusion still all over her, and you are a kid a very annoying one I might add.
"Half a woman" I said trying to be as respectful as I can, and when I tell you the girl's eyes widened like the moon I'm telling the truth, her eyeballs almost fell out of her head.
"Diana loves to ride horses, write and she's good at sword fighting but we do that one in the shadows because Maximus doesn't like it" The queen explained with a loud sigh, I looked at the kid in front of me and smiled. I will most definitely kick her ass in a sword fight, twig arms looking child.
"I can teach her how to fight if you teach me how to read and write" I look at the queen with my smile still on my face, she seemed to be deep in her thoughts, maybe even surprised at my suggestion.
"I wanna learn how to fight mother!" The midget said excited, I just said that to get more time with the queen and so I can kick a kid without getting in trouble.
"Fine Diana, but you promise me you'll be good" she pointed with her finger, the kid smirked at me like she just achieved something. I have a feeling this kid is going to be a pain in my ass.
The queen made her way towards the door and I stepped out so she can walk past me, when her kid tried to follow after her I put my leg out tripping her. Before the kid could say anything I walked out after the queen with a big smirk on my face.
"My queen?" I called for her, she stopped and turned to look at me. Diana went to grab her mom's hand and glared at me but I just ignored her.
"What is your name? If you don't mind me asking" I asked, she thought about it for a second and rolled her eyes before continuing with her way. Eh that was rude but okay.
"That was quite rude" I mumbled making sure she didn't hear it, I sighed and followed after before I lose her and find myself in a maze that I won't be able to exit.
We made our way to a huge open room it had a long table and two men on opposite sides of it, the queen made her way to a handsome bearded guy and sat on the chair next to him and the kid next to her. I looked around and saw a couple of guards standing close to the door so I made my way there and stood next to them. They gave me a weird look but I just shrugged my shoulders and fixed my posture.
"I, as a king, as your ruler and superior, will have the last say in this" the bearded guy said, I assume that is Maximus, her husband. He sounded so arrogant and full of himself, I act like that sometimes but I don't sound like him.
"And what is your last say in this my lord?" The man sitting across from him replied, Maximus chewed on the food and leaned back on his chair with a smirk.
"We send a troop to keep an eye on them, again" he said making the other guy sigh and look down at his hands in disappointment.
"Everyone we sent there, died. Are we going to keep sending our men to their deaths?" The guy asked sounding mad at Maximus, he stood up and leaned on the table with his hands almost as if he was challenging the king.
"Are you challenging my power?! Are you doubting your king?!" Maximus yelled at him, while everyone looked scared and uncomfortable I was actually liking this, it was very entertaining to me. Men fighting over power, trying to make the other cower, hilarious.
"I always did Maximus, you are not suited to be king!" the man said before taking a step away from the table.
"If your father haven't been murdered in cold blood, in one of Rome's nasty whore houses he would've still ruled like the strong king he was!" The older guy yelled back, this was literally so good, I loved it.
Maximus was staring at him with wide eyes, he looked so upset like he was on the verge of killing someone. I noticed a shadow walking from the other side and they were making their way behind Maximus.
"You're still a boy Maximus! and your glory days have come to an end" the grey haired man said with a smirk, I had a bad feeling about what was going on, I quickly snatched the guard's spear and threw fast. I watched as it pierced the man standing right behind Maximus.
"Stop him!" Maximus yelled pointing to the older man who was running away and the guards ran after him.
I went to queen and stood in front of her in case someone else decides to appear out of nowhere. The king quickly pushed me to the side by the shoulder making me roll my eyes, he kneeled in front of the queen holding her face while she just had her arm wrapped around her daughter.
"Lavinia? Are you okay?" He asked her, Lavinia. Such a beautiful name for a gorgeous looking goddess. Maximus stood up and turned to look at me for a second and realized he's never met me before.
"And you are?" He asked confused, wow not even a thank you for saving his life, I should've let him get stabbed. I didn't say anything and just stared at him with a cold face.
"She's the new guard for me and Diana" Lavinia said looking back at me with her beautiful soft eyes like she was begging me not to give him the attitude. I bowed slightly to him in "respect" and watched as he arrogantly popped his chest out in a sign of power. Of course...May the gods help me with this man.
