Chapter 25

Lavinia

Rhea knocked on the door roughly because we've been standing here for a while and we didn't get an answer.

"Are you sure it's the right house?" Marissa asked softly, she was shivering in her place from the cold.

"This is the last house on the left. Are you sure you got the street right?" Rhea replied before knocking again, thankfully this time we got an answer. A very tall guy with dark hair opened the door looking like he just woke up from a deep slumber.

"Can I help you?" He asked with a yawn, he looked at all of us with a confused look.

"Are you Felix?" Rhea asked, he nodded yes. Before he could say anything she pushed past him inside the house and we all followed behind her.

"Hey what the hell? Who are you?" He asked confused, I kept a good grip around my daughter just in case something goes wrong. On the other hand Rhea made herself comfortable, sitting on a chair and putting her feet on the table.

"Venus, sent us" she said folding her arms in front of her, the tall man called Felix looked at her suspiciously then back at me.

"Why would Venus send three women and a child to me?" He asked pushing Rhea's feet off of the table, another man come out from a different room he looked similar to Felix but with light brown hair instead.

"Because, her majesty..." Rhea pointed to me,

"...needs your help"

The two men looked at the each other surprised before turning to me, the new guy who I didn't know the name of came closer to me so I took a step back. Marissa stepped in front of me and politely asked him to back away.

"How would we know you're the real queen? We need proof" he said with an attitude, I felt Diana let go of my hand so I looked down at her. She pulled her knife and handed it to him.

"Venus gave me this" she said giving him the knife, the man took it from her and studied it for a moment before smiling.

"This is her favorite knife" he whispered then threw it to the his brother I assume so he can check it as well.

"Your majesty, welcome to our humble home. If Venus wishes for us to protect you, we shall do so until our last breath" the man said bowing his head to me, I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding and smiled.

"Thank you...eh?"
"Magnus"
"Thank you Magnus"

We were offered a drink and some food but I didn't really have the appetite, while Rhea obviously treated the place as her own. Marissa gave her a disgusted look the whole time but I wouldn't do it so obviously because she saved my life.

"So Venus is now at the colosseum that's why she hasn't visited in a while?" Felix, the older brother asked. Diana was already asleep but I couldn't rest at all until everything was settled.

"We need to find a way to get her out" I said, he sighed and turned to his brother.

"What do you think Magnus?"

"I think, we should stick to our plan to kill Maximus." He replied putting his legs on the table right in front of my face so I leaned back away from the table. I guess Felix noticed my discomfort and he made him drop his feet, what's up with people and putting their legs on tables?

"Maximus is going to flip the city upside down to find me."

"I'm hoping you have a really good plan" Rhea said from the other side of the room, she was still drinking from the wine jar. How is she not drunk yet?
