Venus
My plan is slowly getting better, I've been going to check on my brothers every night that's why I haven't been getting any sleep and I'm tired all the time and Lavinia noticed my change of behavior. I'm not going to tell her so I don't risk ruining my plan to assassinate that bastard.
I was sitting in front of a fire while my brothers roasted a pig and made sure it wasn't burnt, the other slaves who survived the soldiers attack accepted to join us and that made me glad because we need more men.
In this moment we were only seven in total but it was good enough for me, we shouldn't be too many so we could sneak inside the castle.
For now, they're just going to hide in the city and pretend to be free men with the money I bring them. At night, Felix will help them train more or when I'm here I'll be training them.
"When will we kill that bastard?" Magnus asked handing me a piece of meat but I declined because I didn't have the appetite.
"Soon, very soon brother. We won't just kill him, we'll make him beg for a merciful death" I replied looking at the fire burning in front of me, my mind drifted to Lavinia once again. She's been acting a bit suspicious lately, since that night when I cried my heart out on her shoulder she's been asking me so many questions.
"This is for you, all of you. Buy yourselves better clothes, and blend in with the citizens" I threw a small bag to Felix because he's the oldest and in charge when I'm not around, they nodded and I got up putting my cloak on.
"See you tomorrow brothers" I said to all of them and made my way back to the castle. I walked instead of running because I was too tired, I've been awake since yesterday and my body was starting to give up on me.
When I reach the trench hole I picked the plank from its hidden spot and put it over it so I can cross, when I reached the other side I hid the plank and made sure no one was there to catch them went inside the castle.
At the sight of my bed my heart jumped in excitement I can finally rest a bit, I sloppily took off my armor and laid face first on the mattress.
When I woke up the next day my body was aching and my head was spinning, I sat on the bed only in my underwear looking at the ground thinking about my life decisions and if it was worth waking up this early.
"You're awake, good. The queen wants to see you" I looked up at Alba who was staring at me with a bored look, I'm guessing Marissa had informed her of my plan because they're inseparable.
"You look like shit, you should take a bath" she said with a smile, I nodded standing up and put something on my body then made my way out of the room and to the bathing pool.
I went in the warm water soaking my body feeling much better than I did when I woke up. I pushed my head under the water and softly scratched my hair, when I got up to the surface I found two guards standing there.
"Can I help you?" I said annoyed, they looked at each other and they both pulled their swords out. I sighed and pulled myself out of the water, their eyes widened as they stared between my breasts and lower part.
"What? Haven't seen a dick before? I thought guards were the emperor's favorite concubines" what I said seemed to offend since I just called them the king's sex slaves because they pointed their swords to my neck.
"The king is asking to see you" the shorter one said still staring at my boobs, pervert.
"Can I at least put something on?" I said pointing to the clothes Alba left for me, he nodded and I dried myself then put them on as slow as I can making the two guards more annoyed.
"Hurry up!" The other one yelled making my eyes roll, when I was finally done I put my hands up in surrender with a smile on my face. They grabbed me by the arms and dragged me to the room where "his majesty" usually is.
I was pushed inside the room where Maximus was sitting on his throne with a smug look. They guided me in front of him and I stood there waiting for what's gonna happen next.
"Venus" he said with venom laced with his words, like it was hard for him to say it out loud. He brushed through his beard as he glared at me, he gestured with his hand for his guards to push me down on my knees so he could feel superior.
"I'd like to know, what is going on between you and my wife" he asked standing up, I glared at him while he made his way to where I was. If only I had a weapon with me, I'd finish him right here and right now. I'd cut his neck and watch him bleed and struggle to breathe.
"I know who you are and I'm going to destroy you and everyone you love" he whispered with a dirty smirk on his face, I just stared coldly at him remembering how he was the reason my mother is dead.
"Really? Who am I then? Tell me brother" I said and watched how his head tilted to the side in surprise, like he wasn't expecting me to know who he was.
"I am not your brother!" His hand turned into a fist and he tried to punch me but something was stopping him, he was struggling to move his arm towards me.
"Why can't I...beat you?" He asked angrily, I shrugged because I had no clue either maybe it had something to do with the goddess my mother told me about.
"I'm gonna ask you one more time, what is going on between you and Lavinia?" He stared down at me fuming with anger but I was truly unbothered with him, he's so lucky I'm being held down by two guards.
"She's a gorgeous woman who really caught my attention, she's a wonderful mother and she always puts your daughter first. How can I not fall in love?" I said in all honesty, at this point I didn't care what was going to happen next. I felt a hard blow to my head and I fell forward with a wince, I was pulled back up and his eyes were blood red from anger.
"Lavinia, is anyone's dream woman. If only she was mine, I'd treat her like the queen she is" I said again knowing it was only going to make him angrier, one of the guard punched me hard on my right cheek and I fell to the side. My mouth was starting to taste like blood so I spat on the floor.
"Do you want me to keep going brother? Because I can go all day long about how much I wanna fuck your wife" I laughed at his expressions, he was dying to kill me and torture me but somehow he couldn't move, he was shaking in his place while his men ganged up on me punching and kicking every inch of my body.
"Stop! That's enough!" A voice yelled making the two guards stop what they were doing, my head was aching and so was my body, blood was dripping from my forehead and mouth and I just laid there listening to her sweet worried voice.
"What is wrong with you!" She yelled at her husband and ran to my side and pulled me up on my knees. Her hands touched my face checking it and I just smiled at her worried look, her eyes stared at me a million thoughts behind them.
"Are you alright?" She whispered gently holding my face in her hands, she was kneeling in front of me so she can be on my level. I nodded my head to reassure her that it was nothing I couldn't take, I was used to it by now.
"I'm going to watch you get beaten by the strongest most violent gladiators in Rome and I'm going to enjoy every moment" Maximus said through gritted teeth, Lavinia turned to look at him in surprise.
"You can't send her she's my slave! I bought her!" She said back to him, he gestured to his guards and they roughly pulled her away from me.
"Hey! Fuck off!" I said headbutting one of them across the face and watched as he fell on the ground holding his now broken nose.
"Take her out of my sight!" Maximus yelled at his men then he grabbed Lavinia by her forearm pulling her to him.
"Venus! No! Let her go!" She screamed as she tried to wiggle herself out of his grip but he just glared at me while I was being dragged out of the room, I tried to pull myself away but they twisted my arms behind my back preventing any movement. The last thing I saw was her worried face and beautiful blue dress before the doors were closed in my face.
