Marissa was playing around the garden with my daughter, while I just sat on my chair with a glass of wine watching her carefully. She's been my servant for the longest and I never thought she out of all of them would sleep with Maximus because she was the one who 'hated' him the most.

I knew Maximus slept around with women behind my back, but they weren't from my slaves, it was either noble women or other men's slaves. I sat the cup on the table next to me and folded my arms in front of me.

"Are you alright?"

"Not really Venus, I'm trying to see why Marissa was faking her hate for my husband" I replied, Venus sighed and pulled the wooden sword from the sword holder we had.

"I'm sure if you ask her she'll give you the truth" she swung the object in her hand and walked towards Diana, Venus smiled at Marissa who smiled back then made her way towards me.

"How are you doing today your majesty?" Marissa asked with an innocent smile, I looked at the maid with a curious look. Was she acting like this on purpose? Or was she genuinely being nice?

"I'm alright, how was your night?" I asked back with the same innocence she was giving me, her eyes started moving from side to side but not once landing on mine. Her face dropped and I can see her visibly swallow nervously.

"I- well yes I'm okay, I mean it was nice...I guess" she stumbled over her words and I could tell she couldn't tell if I had a clue of what happened yesterday between her and Maximus or I was actually being curious about her night.

"That's nice, did you have fun?" I asked looking away from her and back at Venus who was teaching Diana.

"What?" Marissa replied in surprise,

"At the party Marissa? Did you have fun?" I asked again, I wasn't jealous that she was sleeping with my husband. I was just upset that she actually was into him after all the bad things she said about him, she was his number one hater. Or so she made us believe

"Oh...yes, I did thank you for asking your majesty" she smiled awkwardly and I nodded patting the chair next to me. My maid stared with wide eyes at my demand but still complied.

"You know Marissa, with how much shit you spoke about Maximus I'd think you'll never let him shove his tongue in your mouth" I said carelessly my eyes still focused in front of me, I could feel my maid shift uncomfortably next to me and I didn't care.

"B-but I swear to the gods your majesty that he pushed me to sleep with him. He...he made me!" She raised her voice while trying to defend herself. And I would've believed her if I did see how giggly she was yesterday when he was touching her.

The sound of Marissa raising her voice at me caught the attention of Venus and Diana who stopped fighting, I put my hand up reassuring her that I was okay, and I'll deal with her myself.

"No need to get all defensive dear, I know my husband's irresistible I was just wondering how long you've been fuckin him" I turned to face her and her eyes were wide in surprise, her mouth opened and closed with no words leaving it. I sighed and leaned back on my chair and stared at the blue sky above our heads.

"You'll be working in the kitchen from now on, I don't wanna see you near me or Diana" I mumbled, am I being too harsh? I don't think so.

She's been lying to me this whole time, I know that Maximus sleeps around with my maids but she always said she hated him so much but when she got the chance to sleep with him she took it even though he was so drunk he barely held himself up.
