Venus
My eyes were on Lavinia for a moment, I stared at the woman who looked so worried I could see it from this distance, she was on the edge of the balcony praying for this to be over. I noticed a woman next to her, Marissa. She told her something and pulled her back to sit down.
She's gonna be safe, was the first thing I thought about and that made me feel at ease.
My attention went back to the guy holding me while the pervert was aiming his axe at my chest, just when I thought it was over for me an arrow pierced right in his eye. Everyone went quiet surprised and confused where the arrow came from.
One of the gladiators who was wearing a helmet had his bow aimed towards us, I frowned in confusion at his action, I couldn't see his face but that wasn't really what matters. The important question was, why did he just save me? Or was he trying to kill me and missed his shot?
I watched him grab his helmet and pull it off of his head, the woman smirked at me and pulled another bow aiming it at me. My eyes widened in surprise and my instant reaction was to drop to the ground, the arrow hit the guy behind in the chest.
"Rhea what the fuck?!" I yelled unwrapping the chain from my arms, I quickly picked my sword back up making the crowd cheer even louder.
"You're welcome!" the woman who cleaned my wounds yesterday yelled from where she was standing, so is she with me or against me? Rhea ran to Aio who was struggling to push a big guy off of him, she jumped on his back and stabbed his head with her arrow. She's with me I guess.
I felt something sharp pain on my thigh, I hissed and looked at what caused me this. The third guy who was almost the same size as me has taken the moment when I was distracted and cut my leg with his sword.
"You...fucker" I said holding my thigh to stop the bleeding, now that I was a leg less than him he might have the upper hand. He took the initiative to swing at my head but he found my sword waiting in the perfect spot to block his, metal collided with each other, by now he was the last one alive, add Aio and Rhea but they were on my side.
I managed to avoid and block many of his blows, my wounded arm from yesterday was the same that I use to hold the sword and the cuts were reopening making it harder for me to hold on into my weapon.
Aio and Rhea were making their way towards me but I shook my head no, I am not about to die to some old guy. He has lived enough...
I grabbed my sword from both ends blocking his swing, I felt the metal cut my palm but I didn't care because I knew this was going to end now.
I kicked him in the knee and watched his leg got the opposite way, his screams were heard all over the arena I punched his face making him fall to the ground. I made sure he was facing Maximus. I grabbed the guy by his hair and made him look up at the royal stand.
With a smile on my face I put the sword to his neck and slowly sliced it open, I pushed his dead corpse to the ground and threw my sword away. I watched as the king's face scrunched in anger and it made me so joyful and to make him even more upset I bowed to him sarcastically and I was sure he knew the meaning of it.
I slowly winced remembering the huge cut on my leg, but before I could fall and arm wrapped around my waist to hold me up. Rhea was by my side with a smile but our smiles were gone when the door opened revealing royal soldiers, they were well armed and protected. They surrounded us ready to do as he orders.
"Is there anybody else?! Your majesty?" I yelled, the crowd was speaking among itself for a moment before I started hearing my name being chanted over and over again. We were all waiting for Maximus' decision, because obviously he always had the last say on who'll live or die.
He knew he had to let us live because if he doesn't the crowd will riot since he ignored their choice and I'm sure he doesn't want an angry crowd chasing him. He stood up making all of them shut up, my eyes looked at Lavinia and for the first time she wasn't looking at me but to the woman on my side. I internally smirked but quickly hid it.
He put his fist forward his thumb to the side meaning neutral, the crowd waited patiently to see what the king was going to choose. I watched his hand move but I didn't care what decision he makes, I wasn't scared of him or his men.
His thumb went up and I smirked victoriously, he knew he just lost a battle where he had the upper hand. He should've killed me when I was vulnerable, but of course he wanted the show, he wanted the entertainment.
The crowd screamed and cheered loudly happy with the outcome while I watched the bastard storm out of his place furiously. Lavinia walked to the edge and I bowed to her, respectfully. I wish I was there to hold her and make her feel safe. She smiled and nodded back then followed after him.
The two of my newly made friends helped me back inside where me and Aio were shackled again while Rhea was offered a bowl of water. I gave Rhea a confused look, why wasn't she chained?
"I'm a free woman, I do this for fun" she rolled her eyes and pushed me inside my cell. I looked at Aio who just laughed at my confused face, why would she do that to herself? What kinda nonsense is this?

"You fucked the queen?" Aio asked as soon as his foot stepped inside the cell, Rhea was sitting in front of me with the bowl of clean water and treating my new wounds so they won't get worse. I don't know what's going to happen to us next we were given lots of food and drinks so we can regain our strength.
"I did not fuck the queen Aio" I whispered, Rhea put the special herbs on my thigh and other spots where I was hurt, I jumped at the feeling and winced pain. She mumbled an apology then wrapped my arms with a long cloth to cover everything.
"Then how are you ready to fight a man two times your size for her?" he asked with a smirk, I leaned my head back on the wall feeling a smile creep on my face. I am ready to risk it all for her, just to be with her, just to see her smile...
"Do you love her?" He asked the same question, and I still didn't answer I just closed my eyes and thought of her. Just her.
"Do you love her to death Venus?" Rhea was the one to ask this time, my heart raced and I felt my world shrink but when I closed my eyes and I saw her face I felt safe, I felt home.
"Speak of her over my grave and watch how she brings me back to life" the words left my lips unconsciously.
They stared at each other in awe then back at me, finally getting an answer to their question. Yes, I love Lavinia. And yes, I'll die for her.
"You should rest, your wounds will be better for our next fight, in a week." Rhea said patting my leg before leaving the cell, I thanked her and laid back against the wall and closed my eyes for a moment.
"So did you?" Aio spoke disturbing the very first stages of my sleep, I groaned and glared at him.
"Will you drop it!" I half yelled, he put his hands up in surrender and I huffed closing my eyes again. Ah yes, sleep, finally I could rest and regain all the strength I lost.
"But like d-"
"Shut up!"
