It's been about two weeks since the incident. Lesso and I have been relatively distant with eachother. The only times we've interacted it when greeting eachother in the dining halls, or when bumping into eachother around the schools. We haven't had a proper conversation since that Saturday when 'talking' about what happened in the Doom Room. It's now Monday morning. I sit at the dining table. Lady Lesso look up at me. I flick her a quick, kind smile. "Good morning everyone. How are we?" I ask to the group. Everyone replies apart from Lesso. I sigh. "Lady Lesso, how are you doing?" I ask. "Hm? Oh uh, I'm alright." she replies, somewhat shocked. I nod. "That's good." I reply. She nods. "And you?" I raise my eyebrows. "Good, yeah good." She nods again.
Well that was fucking awkward
"Princess, can I speak to you after breakfast?" Professor Dovey asks. "Of course, Professor." I respond. She smiles. "Great." I look at Lesso who is focused on her food. Over the past two weeks, I have gotten closer with a lot of my students, as well as fellow staff members. I've been spending the majority of my afternoons chatting with Professor Dovey and Professor Anemone. Every time Lesso sees us together, she shoots me looks, her gaze as sharp and knives. I try my best to block them out, but they're impossible to ignore.
After breakfast, Dovey and I take a walk around the Gardens of Good. "What's going on with you and Lesso?" she asks. "Whatever do you mean?" I ask, acting clueless. She stops. "You two were as thick as thieves two weeks ago, and now you're hardly talking to eachother. What happened?" she says. I sigh. "Let's just say we had a bit of a disagreement." I tell her. She sighs. "What happened this time?" she asks, sitting on a bench. I sit beside her. "Following my injury, she made it her 'duty' to figure out who caused me harm. That quickly went from figuring it out to torturing the culprit." I explain. She nods. "That can't be all." she pushes. "I told her to drop it. She didn't." I add. "Of course she didn't." Dovey says, rolling her eyes. "She got mad when I stopped her from hurting the poor boy too much. Apparently I 'ruined her fun'." I finish. Dovey rubs my back. "Give her some time. She'll sort herself out, hopefully."
As we're talking, I feel Lesso's hard gaze on me. I search for her. Nothing. "What're you looking for?" Dovey asks, confused. "Hey? Oh, nothing. Something just felt off." I reply. Dovey nods slowly. "Right... Well, I better get going. I have a class to teach." she says. "Yes, me too." I reply. We both head inside, then split off in the direction of our classes. I walk in the class. Agatha is seated in front of my desk. "What's going on with you and Lady Lesso?" she asks as I sit. I look at her, stunned. "Uh, what?" I ask. "I overheard her talking to another teacher about you. She was saying that you quote on quote 'drive her crazy'." she tells me. My eyes widen. "I'm sorry?" I ask, shocked. "Mhm. She also said something along the lines of 'I need her' or 'I want her'. It was one of those." she adds. "Really?" I question, refusing to believe her. "I swear I'm telling the truth." Agatha pleads. Before I can reply, others start flooding into the class.
After class, I walk my way to Lesso's office. I knock on the door. She opens it. "Wha- Princess, what are you-" she starts. I walk past her and take a seat. She shuts the door then sits back down in front of me. "What are you doing here?" she asks. "I drive you crazy, huh?" I ask. Her eyes widen. "How do you-" "Never mind that. What about you wanting or needing me? What's that about?" I ask, smirking. She tries to speak. Nothing comes out. She takes a deep breath. "Who told you this?" she asks. "Oh so it's true?" I ask, leaning back into the chair. "Well, ye-yes. But, who told you?" She answers. I avoid her question. "Was is 'want' or 'need'?" I ask, teasingly. "Who told you?" she asks again. "Answer me, Leonora. Was it 'want' or 'need'? Do you want me, or do you need me." I push, leaning forward. She doesn't reply.
I stand up and put my hands on her desk leaning forward. "Come on, darling. Answer my question." I say quietly. She doesn't reply. She just stares at me, hungrily. I sigh. "Oh Leonora," I start, walking around to her side of the desk. I swivel her around to face me. I place a hand on each of her arm rests then lean in. "it was 'need', wasn't it?" I ask. She shakes her head. "No?" I ask, somewhat surprised. "It was both." she says, breathing heavily. I gasp. I grab her chin gently. "Both? And I drive you crazy? My lord, I never knew I had such a strong affect on you." I say. She groans. "Liar." she mutters. I chuckle, standing upright.
