Later on that day as Lesso and I are talking in the dining hall, an argument breaks out between Ever students. Dovey, Anemone, and I make our way over to intervene. "What is going on?" Dovey asks. The crowd disperses, revealing Tedros, Tristan, and Beatrix in the middle. I raise my eyebrows. "Tedros is in love with a Never student! I'm trying to tell him it's wrong!" Tristan yells. "Okay, calm down. Tedros?" Anemone says. Tedros sighs. "Tedros said he's not in love with the girl. Everyone believes him except Tristan." Beatrix explains. Tedros looks to the ground. "I'm not in love with her." he says, looking at Tristan. "Bullshit!" Tristan replies. "That is enough. Tedros, Tristan, my office. Professor Anemone, Princess Y/n. I may need assistance." Dovey orders. We all follow her to her office.

"I've had enough of this rumor. Nevers and Evers can not be together. It's the rules. It's forbidden." Dovey says. My heart sinks. Tedros looks at the floor. "Look at him. He's guilty. He's in love with a Never." Tristan says, stirring the pot. "Okay-" Dovey starts. Frustrated, I cut in. "Stop. I'm over this. You have no right telling Tedros how he feels. Did he tell you directly that he's in love with a Never?" I ask, defensively. "Well no-" Tristan starts. "Exactly. No, he didn't. You have no idea what he's thinking or feeling so stop going around and acting like you do." I say sternly. "Y/n." Dovey tries. "No, Professor. He has no idea what it's even like being in love with a Never. If he did, he wouldn't be acting like this. I won't hide it, I've been in love with a Never before. It destroyed me not being able to be happy with them. Constantly fearing getting caught. It was horrible." I say, trying not to cry.

Everyone looks at me, shocked. "Y/n, this isn't about Lady Lesso, is it?" Anemone asks. "So what if it is about Lady Lesso? It doesn't change the fact that I've been in love with a Never. What's so bad about Nevers being with Evers? Why can't everyone just be happy?" I ask, tears in my eyes. "Nevers can't experience true love." Dovey says. "Who decided that? An Ever, right? How's that fair? Oh wait, it's not! That makes us no better than Nevers." I argue. "Y/n, it's just how things work." Dovey says, trying to calm me down. "It can't be how it works if I know Nevers who have fallen in love." I reply. She quietens down. "I've said what I needed to say. I have a class to get ready for." I say, leaving the office.

I storm into my classroom, slamming the door behind me. "Fuck!" I yell, bursting into tears. As I'm crying, there is a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I ask, wiping my eyes. "Aunt Y/n, it's me." Tedros says. "Come in." he walks in. Tears start flowing down my face again. He hugs me. "I hate this, Tedros. I hate that we can't be happy becasue we love Nevers." I say, sobbing. "Me too, Aunt Y/n. We need to show them that Evers loving Nevers is okay. How else are they mean't to change their minds?" he tells me. I shake my head. "It's too risky, Tedros. Who knows how they'll react." I say, shutting him down. He pulls back. "Maybe. I have to go. I have class." he says. I smile, wiping my eyes. He smiles back then leaves.

After class, Agatha comes up to me. "Can I talk to you about this sitaution with Sophie and Tedros?" she asks. "How do you know about it?" I ask, nodding. "Sophie's my bestfriend. We've grown up together." she explains. "Sophie knows Tedros feels the same way about her as she feels about him. She wants him, and apparently he wants her." Agatha tells me. "Sophie doesn't want to hide it anymore." I sigh. "By the sounds of things, neither does Tedros." I tell her. "What's this going to come to?" she asks. "I don't know." I reply.

At dinner that night, Lesso rubs her leg against mine under the table, snapping me out of my trance. "Y/n, what's wrong?" she asks. I shake my head. She gives me a sympathetic nod. As we're eating, an owl flutters in, dropping a letter in front of Dovey and Lesso. Dovey grabs it and opens it. "All staff of both schools for a meeting after dinner - Students Prince Tedros of Camelot and Sophie and Galvaldon are to join" I sigh. "This is going to go wonderfully." Lesso says, rolling her eyes. After dinner, Lesso and Dovey grab Sophie and Tedros and we all make our way to the meeting hall. All of the staff sit, leaving Tedros and Sophie standing at the end of the table opposide the Headmaster.
