Derrick's pov
I have never felt more angry than I did when I looked up to find Ayden gone. I mean how dare he run from me?! HE IS MINE!!!! Yeah, I bet a lot of you are going, "He's a person, not your property!" Right? Well that's where you'd be wrong. The Luna, in her infinite wisdom decided to give him to me before we were both born, oh and before you go through all the arguments like "He's a male, you can't have children!" Ayden is an Omega, one of the few males of our kind that has the ability to have pups and even if he couldn't as long as I could deliver a strong male descendent that had my blood in their veins nothing else mattered. I was going to explain everything to him when things settled down, but thanks to that little stunt he just pulled I'm going to leave him in the dark. Hearing a weak moan, I turn my attention to Ayden who is just starting to wake up, smirking when he tries to lift one of his chained hands, his brow scrunching in confusion when it lifts only a few inches off the bed before falling to rest beside his head.
"W-What's____________?"
"It seems that I gave you too much freedom Ayden and that was a mistake. So I have decided that you to make all your choices for you from now on."
"Please, I'm sorry! I______________!"
"I trusted you! I believed that you were finally learning your place and you try to leave me?! After I told you I love you . . . after everything I've done to prove myself to you, you try to abandon me?!"
"I wasn't abandoning you."
Staring down into his pain filled, yet calm eyes, I could feel my rage growing out of control and before I could stop myself; I was already striking Ayden across the face.
"You weren't abandoning me?! What were you doing then, taking a nice stroll in the woods?"
"I was saving myself . . . from you."
Clenching my hands into fists to avoid hitting him again, I turned away in an attempt to calm myself down.
"And just how far did you think you were going to get while you were in heat?"
"I__________________________."
"That's what I thought Ayden. You live in a fantasy world, thinking everything has to follow your perfect little plan or you can just walk away . . . well let me clue you in on reality, even if I had let you escape from me . . . which I never will; how long do you really think you could have lasted on your own?"
"What do you mean?"
"Rogues, Ayden. I'm talking about wolves that don't have a pack and don't follow the rules of a pack. Now, what do you think they would do to you?"
"K-Kill me?"
"Wrong answer. You're much to valuable to kill right away and because you're so weak, you wouldn't be able to fight back when they passed you around and who knows how many pups they would have gotten from you before they finally used you up and decided to sell you or throw you away like trash."
