Ayden's pov
I threw my head back as Zander thrust even harder into me, giving him access to my neck.
"H-Hit me."
"No."
"Please, I need it."
"You know how I feel about you begging for me to hurt you."
"But it . . . if feels so good. Just a little_________."
"I said stop it."
"If I was with Derrick, I bet he would give me what I want."
"No, that's not going to work."
"Yeah, I bet he would beat me until I had to beg him to stop."
"Is that all you think I'm capable of, hurting you?"
I let out a gasp when Zander pulled out of me, moving away until he was looking down at me.
"Maybe you should go back to him if you're going to compare the two of us."
"W-What?"
"I refuse to have a mate that compares me to another male, especially my brother."
"F-Fine then, but you're the one that made me this way. I never wanted to be hit or beaten, y-you're the one that trained my body to get pleasure from pain."
Without bothering to reply, Zander grabbed his pants from the ground pulling them on before continuing his way outside.
"I hate you Zander, I wish you'd never had me brought here."
I knew he heard me because he froze for several seconds before he continued on his way. As tears started to fall from my eyes, I pull up my knees, letting my head drop onto them.
"I'm sorry babies, daddy doesn't want us anymore. We have to leave."
Lowering my legs, I stumbled to my feet, pulling on Zander's t-shirt, which fell to my knees and my boxers before leaving the tent. Suddenly a large hand grabbed hold of my wrist, dragging me back inside.
"Stay put."
"Zander, what? Why are you_________?"
"Just do what I say for once and don't leave until I come to get you."
I don't know why, but I felt like testing him.
"I'm leaving, Zander. I don't have to listen to you anymore."
I whimpered when Zander suddenly slapped me across the face.
"I don't have time to play with you, you're not going anywhere, but you are going to listen to me. Now stay put."
Jerking away, I walked over to the bed, lying down and turning my back on him. I felt him standing behind me, but I refused to look at him and he finally walked away, leaving me alone with my thoughts. A sudden pain in my stomach caused me to shoot up and I let out a whimper when I struggled to my feet and a mixture of water and blood rushed down my thighs.
"Z-Zander . . . our pups . . . something's wrong."
I stumbled to the flap of the tent, but before I could make it outside, my legs buckled and I collapsed to the ground.
My last thought before everything went dark was four desperate words.
'Somebody, please help me.'
Derrick's pov
I knew the elders were lying to me the whole time, yet I continued to obey them, hoping they'd change their minds and allow me to continue the search; but something happened that completely changed my mind . . . I was visited by the Moon Goddess. It all started when Tara, who had been getting her strength back and had given birth to our beautiful baby girl suddenly collapsed one day when we were outside together, relaxing. I took her to my uncle who did all he could, but she refused to respond to him and fell asleep one day and wouldn't wake up. It had been nearly two months and I'd stayed by her side every minute, unable to bear the guilt, feeling I'd somehow caused this. I know the pack blames me for whatever is happening, if I'd just devoted myself completely to her this wouldn't be happening, but I refused to let go of Ayden, halfheartedly mating with Tara and then abandoning her when she needed me the most. I felt a tear slipping down my cheek, even now when Tara was supposed to be the center of my attention, I can't stop thinking about Ayden.
