Ayden's pov
Please why won't they just kill me? So much pain . . . too much pain and they're laughing again as I beg for them to stop. It's been two weeks . . . two weeks since I woke up and they started training me to prepare me for their leader. A loud crack of air is my only warning to prepare myself as the whip strikes across my back again, ripping through my skin and causing me to let out a scream of agony. After thirty strikes across my already wounded back, the man stopped and I drooped against the tree, shaking uncontrollably.
"He's a strong one, none of the others stayed conscious this long . . . he's perfect for the boss."
I don't know if the voice behind me is being serious or mocking and I weakly wonder why that thought would even cross my mind right now.
"No! He's weak and useless . . . the only thing he has that anyone would want is this!"
Hearing footsteps stalking closer, I tried to bite back a whimper of fear, my whole body shuddering when the angry figure beside me jerked my head up, forcing me to look at my captives.
"Because of this face, my mate is dead and our comrades have been captured! He doesn't deserve your admiration Carlisle, he deserves to suffer!"
"Why?"
"What do you mean, why?!"
"You attacked me. Your mate came to my home to take me away . . . if I didn't do anything wrong, why are you doing this to me?"
I cried out when a hard slap to the face caused a flood of pain to travel through me.
"Shut up! This is all your fault, you and your pathetic excuse for a mate . . . if he would have just died when he was supposed to none of this would have happened!"
"W-What?"
"He was supposed to be dead, why couldn't he have just died?!"
"That's enough Jasper."
"But_______________."
"No, you've already said too much "
Jasper's tone suddenly changed, his voice filled with fear and sorrow.
"Are you going to tell him?"
"Of course not, we all know how upset you are."
"Maybe you should . . . if you did , he would kill me and . . . and I'd be with Lonny."
"You need to rest, go lay down and let me take care of this."
As soon as Jasper's footsteps faded, Carlisle untied the ropes around my wrists that bound me to a large tree and I collapsed to the ground.
"I'm going to give you time to heal . . . you can try to run if you want, I'll just track you down and give you to Jasper. Oh, and if you're thinking of using your pack link to contact someone, well their blood will be on your hands."
I didn't reply, using all my energy to heal my wounds.
"You might want to get some rest, we're going to continue your training tomorrow."
"W-Why?"
"It's better for you to have a high tolerance for pain before we bring you to your new mate or you won't survive."
The tears came without warning as his words finally reached me. I had to let them hurt me or I wouldn't survive the man they were taking me to and I couldn't escape or call for help?
"W-What if I k-kill myself?"
"If I thought you were strong enough to do that, I would have left you tied up, besides Jasper would never let you get away from him until he got revenge for his mate."
