As Alicia slept, she dreamed of all the memories she had shared with her absolute best friend, ending with the conversation between her and Mrs. Beth.

Alicia woke up in a puddle of sweat while she was still crying. Alicia grabbed her phone off of her nightstand and began to look at the pictures of her and Katie that brought back happy memories, as she began to cry again. She didn't want to believe her best friend was dead.

A moment later, her phone started to ring, Mrs. Beth's name showing up on the screen. Alicia slowly pressed the answer button, still sniffling.

"Mrs. Beth?" Alicia asked.

"Alicia, I would like you to know that we have a date set for the funeral,"
Mrs. Beth paused taking a deep breath,"March 7."
She said, her voice quiet.

"Okay, I'll tell my parents."
Alicia replied.

"Okay. Visitations are the 6th at 6 at the Southside Funeral Home."
Mrs. Beth stated before saying she had to go and hanging up.

Alicia put her phone back on the nightstand and went to find her mom. She found her mom in the living room, watching TV.

"Mom," Alicia began,"They've chosen a funeral date."
Alicia told her, sniffling.

"Sweetheart, we are going to get past this. I know she was your best friend, but she wouldn't want you to be like this. She would want you to be happy, no matter what happens, because you know how to find light in any kind of darkness."
Her mom told her, hoping it would help her to stop crying.

"Mom, the funeral is going to be on her thirteenth birthday."
Alicia told her, sobbing uncontrollably.

As the funeral got closer and closer, all Alicia could do was miss her best friend. She didn't go to school for a little over six weeks. She just couldn't face everyone and tell them that Katie, her beloved best friend, was gone.

As Alicia slid on her simple, black dress and black flats, she was hit with a wave of emotions as she remembered this was Katie's favorite dress on her. She started sobbing uncontrollably as she was reminded of her dead best friend yet again.
