"Mrs. Beth, what's going on? You're starting to scare me."
Alicia asked as she began to worry.

"Alicia, we had a wreck and Katie was in the passenger seat," she paused. "The car that hit us, hit her side of the car. We flew off the road and ended up in the ditch."

She paused again as Alicia was listening in complete shock and sadness as she thought of all the things that could've happened to her best friend. Mrs. Beth started to continue,

"When the drunk driver hit her side of the car, Katie hit her head on the window pretty hard and was knocked unconscious. When she hit her head, the glass broke. I could see a big gash on the side of her head and she was gushing blood everywhere. There was nothing I could do. I called 911, but she bled out and died before the ambulance got there. I'm so sorry."
She said bawling as she hung up.

Alicia couldn't believe her ears. She put her phone down and immediately started bawling. Her mom walked into the living room only to see her daughter crying her eyes out.

"Alicia, what happened?"
Her mom said as she pulled Alicia into her chest trying to console her.

"Mom," Alicia bawled, "Katie was killed in a car accident. They were hit by a drunk driver." Alicia continued bawling.

"Oh honey, I'm so sorry. It's gonna be okay."
Her mom replied, trying her best to calm Alicia down.

"No it won't mom. She was my best friend for seven years and now she's gone!" Alicia almost screamed.

Her mom couldn't think of anything to help her calm down, so she just sat there, holding her thirteen year old daughter as she cried herself to sleep, before carrying her up to her room and putting her in the bed.
