Third POV
Del looked at Reggie in disbelief. Homewood just rolled his eyes.

"Kid, your starting to piss me off. And what do you even see in her? Anyway, she's nothing special."

Del looks down as she silently agrees with Homewood. Reggie looks at Del.

"She is special. She's the best person I've ever met. She's caring and sweet with a bit of a witty personality, but that's what makes her so special." Reggie explains.

The group hears how Reggie speaks about Del and sees that he really does like her. Del was stunned. She's never had someone talk about her like this. Let's just say she was a blushing mess.

"And she's fearless, one of the strongest people I've ever met. She fought every day to try and live like a teenager. Even though I'm sure, she was scared just to even go to school in fear that you would find her. And she's willing to risk her life to keep me safe." Reggie continues.

Homewood rolled his eyes, "Whatever. She may be brave in your eyes, but in mine, she's someone who stole the life I should have had. And she should fear me. I'm the one who's gonna end her life."

The group watches in terror, waiting for the team to burst into the room and save them. But the team was still down the road from the building, and the teens were doing good at distracting Homewood.

"Well, I'm not scared of you. I was, I'll admit that. You made me so scared that my brain tricked me into thinking you were at my school, and I had a panic attack." Del said, standing her ground.

"Oh yeah. Melissa told me about that." Homewood laughed.

"She was really freaked out during that panic attack, and now we know why." Julie said.

Alex shakes his head, "If I went through all that she did and were haunted by this guy, I would have been freaked out too."

"But I'm not afraid of you anymore," Del admitted to Homewood.

"Oh, you're not."

Del shakes her head, "No, because I see now that you're just a little kid who wants his parents. And I know what that feels like. I wish every day that I could see my parents again. But you took that away from me. From both of us because you let your anger get in the way. When you could've just found them and asked for an explanation from them, then maybe-maybe we could've been a family."

Homewood listens to what Del says and begins to take it in. His eyes glossed up with tears as he realized that she was right. Why didn't he just find and talk to them? Maybe then he would be happy.

"We can still be a family, you know." Del says.

Reggie looks at her puzzled, "Del-" But she cuts him off with a look.

She notices the team stalking around the building, preparing to enter it. So she continues to distract Homewood.

"We can?" He asks.

Del nods, "Yeah. You just have to let us go, and we can be a family. The one neither of us, got." She said, walking closer to him.

Homewood contemplates what to do. He stands there frozen, then looks to Del and smiles. Del then slowly hugs Homewood, and he hugs her back.

"What is Del doing?" Flynn asks.

Garcia smiles, "She's distracting him."

"FBI!" Derek shouts with his gun raised.

Homewood turns to the team, all with their guns raised at him. Del rushed to get out of his arms, but he held her tight. He points his gun at her head in anger.

"You tricked me." He said.

"No, I promise I didn't trick you. I meant what I said we can still be a family." Del tries to convince him.

Homewood seethed, "You liar!"

"Homewood, if you even dare move your finger, non of us would hesitate to pull the trigger." Hotch tells him.

"I'm sure you wouldn't want to risk the thought of hitting Del. You all care about her too much." Homewood laughed.

The team stood there, not knowing how to deal with this. Homewood was an angry man who wanted nothing more than revenge on Del, but they didn't know how to save her.

Del didn't know what to do. She was just as frozen. How could she possibly get out of this situation? She had to get the gun away from her. So she did what one of her old friends taught her to get away from someone holding you. She stepped on his foot. Then she swung her head back into his nose then elbowed him in the stomach. The group watching was stunned, and even the team was by Del's moves.

Del ran to JJ and hid behind her. Catching her breath as she was finally away from Homewood. He recovered and grew angrier.

"No! I won't let you get away from me again!" He screamed out and pointed the gun at me, but before he could shoot.

Hotch was the one who shot first. He shot a deadly blow to his chest, and Homewood fell to the ground. Prentiss kicked the gun away from him, and they all holstered their weapons. Del stepped out from behind JJ, seeing Homewood lying on the ground.

She moved closer to him. She was bending down, seeing him choking on his blood. He looked at her, and she could see he was scared. He was scared to die.

"Rot in hell." Del said, then Homewood breathed his last breath.

"Del." Hotch said.

She looked at him, got up, and ran, hugging him. He hugged her back and just held her, relieved that she was okay and in his arms. Hotch let out a deep breath, not wanting to let Del go, afraid she might disappear again.

They separated, and Hotch looked at her, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Hope you didn't miss me too much." Del said.

"Not at all. The quiet was nice for once."

"That's mean," Del said with a furrowed brow but a smug smile and hugged him again.

"Come on, let's get you guys out of here." Hotch says.

A/N:
Reggie and Del are save at last.
i wanted to make Del a bit of a badass so i had her able to get out of Homewood's hold on her. idk if what i wrote would actually help anyone in that type of situation but it made sense in my head so.
there is one more chapter left then the epilogue.
