The funeral has ended. Edge and Heath stayed a bit for the wake, offered their condolences to Simmo's family, and then left. They're now on their way back to the car.
Edge: You couldn't keep your man tears in, could you?
Heath: What are you talking about? You almost cried yourself.
Edge: Exactly. Almost. But I didn't. I pulled through.
Heath: Whatever, mate. I'm just sad about Simmo.
Edge: So am I. Seeing him again, it's like all of these feelings came back to me, you know? It's like I got my adolescence back for a moment.
Heath: I feel you.
Edge: Remember how we were always competing?
Heath: You were always competing. You were the most competitive person I've ever known. You always went flat out, completely obsessed with winning everything... I don't know what happened to you afterwards.
Edge: ... Things change, you know? Competing felt right, when we were at Solar Blue. But when I got to the pro circuit, it was different. I had to get outta there. It was turning me into someone I really didn't wanna become... Simmo was so freaked out when I told him. He said I was the best natural surfer he's ever met.
Heath: Yeah yeah, we get it. You don't have to brag.
Edge: I'm just stating facts, mate. That's what he said. God bless Simmo.
Heath: ... Yeah, God bless him. Wanna go to Blue Water Beach?
Edge: What, now?
Heath: Why not? We'll spend a day there. See the Solar Blue house again. Crack a cold one, in memory of Simmo.
Edge: Yeah nah, I can't. I have to fly to Tahiti tomorrow morning, remember? Someone's gotta cover the event.
Heath: Oh, right. I forgot. Let's just go home, then.
Edge: Wait here. I gotta find a place to pee.
Heath: Just don't do it behind the bush.
Edge: Can't make no promises.
[Edge leaves, in search of a private spot. Meanwhile, Guy shows up behind Heath]
Guy: ... Heath? Heath Carroll?
Heath: (turns around) Yeah?
Guy: Wow, it's really you, mate (shakes Heath's hand).
Heath: (nervous laughter) Yeah, it's me. So nice to see you again, ehrm...
Guy: Guy. Guy Spender.
Heath: Oh, Guy.
Guy: You really don't know who I am, do you?
Heath: (sigh) No. Sorry.
Guy: I went to Solar Blue as well. I was part of the last generation.
Heath: Ooooh, I see. Looks like Edge and I weren't the only Solar Blue people who made it to the funeral... Wait, did you say last generation?
Guy: Yeah. Solar Blue closed down, after our final surf-off.
Heath: Right. Guess I forgot about that.
Guy: I'll always respect Simmo, you know? He wasn't even our coach, but he went out of his way to make sure there were two wild cards, after Angus pulled the plug on Solar Blue. Unfortunately, I didn't win it. But it was a wholesome gesture.
Heath: Yeah, that does sound like Simmo. It's a shame what happened to Solar Blue.
Guy: It really is. But at least I got to be a part of it... (his phone rings) That must be the wife. Gotta go, mate. Take it easy.
Heath: Alright. See ya.
[Guy leaves]
Heath: ... It really sucks, when you put it into perspective. So many years of Simmo's work down the drain. Rest in peace, Solar Blue.
