I groaned and put my head in my hands on top of my hood. I had run out of gas and so had Daryl's truck, and according to the others we shouldn't be wasting gas on more cars than we needed. This car was the best thing that happened to me and I couldn't believe that I was leaving her! We hadn't even reached the highway yet. Daryl didn't seem as upset about his truck, when I looked up, I saw he had a sexy motorcycle that he and some of the other 'men' were helping pull down from the bed of the truck. I sighed placing some of my supplies in Carol's Cherokee.
"I hope you guys don't mind," I motioned to Rick and Lori about my bags.
"'Course not Aaron, go right ahead," Lori replied.
I smiled at her and put my bags and guns in the trunk of the car. I put my other bag on top of the guns so I would know if anyone was messing with my stuff. I sighed and Carl ran up to me.
"What's up little man?" I said placing my hand on his head, and kneeling down to his height.
"Aaron, the Gameboy died," he said sadly.
"Aw, it's okay here," I handed him some extra batteries I kept in my flannel pocket.
"These are the last two batteries I have until I can get more, try not to use them up so fast, okay? Oh and here I found these before we left the CDC."
I handed him Mario Party, Pokémon Emerald, and a Batman game.
"Wow! Thanks so much Aaron! You're the best!" He exclaimed as he hugged me.
At first, I was taken aback, but I quickly recovered and hugged him back.
"Hey Sophia look what Aaron gave me!" He said as ran back over to Sophia. I stood up and hit a hard wall of human flesh. Instead of a hungry growl, it was a low grunt. I turned around to see Daryl rubbing his chest slightly, I blushed and laughed nervously.
"Whoops sorry Daryl."
"S'alright, listen since our vehicles are outa gas, you wanna ride with me?" He asked, motioning to his bike.
My eyes widened and I wrapped my arms around his neck hugging him tightly, squealing like a child who was just told they could go to Disneyland for their birthday. Daryl froze and I could feel the awkwardness in the air. I quickly pulled away and put my hands behind my back looking away at the group who was giving us weird stares.
"Sorry," I mumbled walking away.
He grunted and started walking towards his motorcycle. I slung my gun over my back, closed the trunk to the Cherokee, and sighed, running my hand through my hair. I'm an embarrassment. I wonder why he froze like that, maybe my movements were too sudden, or maybe it was the public display of affection to the whole group, which made him uncomfortable. I should really be more considerate about how he feels. Also, I should probably not be so clingy, Daryl seemed pretty awkward when it came to this whole 'relationship' thing, if you can even call it that.
"Hey Annie Oakley, you comin'?" Daryl called.
I looked up from the ground and walked over to the bike, putting my leg over the side. Wow, I've never ridden on a motorcycle before, but I have always wanted to own one. I'm actually kinda nervous.
I felt the rumble under me and I jumped in the seat.
"You best hold on," Daryl said giving me a side-glance.
I nodded and wrapped my arms around his torso. Daryl revved the engine and I watched as we left the two vehicles behind. My car that had been with me since the start of this apocalypse, I sighed, clutched Daryl tighter, and buried my face in his back. Letting the roaring engine of his bike, set my mind at an awkward easiness.
