T/W: sexual assault

A whole week passed, filled with work, Sabine and John finally decided to go on a date after planning for a long time.

"I'm telling you, it's not easy being a doctor." John chuckled lightly, agreeing with her words. "I can tell. But that's alright, I appreciate you making time for us even with such a packed schedule."

Sabine couldn't help but smile. "I'll always make time for you." John hid the blush on his face before entering a fancy restaurant he booked for their date, already having their meals paid beforehand as to avoid Sabine from paying for everything.

The restaurant had a modern and classy design to it. With its matte black walls, reflecting against the wooden, dark oak tables covered by white cloth complemented their huge, golden candle-lit chandelier that hung on top, centre of the restaurant. Their golden utensils shone brightly on each and every tables they had neatly cleaned and strategically placed. Everything seemed and looked so perfect.

A server sat them down at their booked table and carefully placed the menus on the table, asking what drinks they'd like as they waited. Feeling a bit trapped and stressed, Sabine ordered for red wine while John did the same, along with water for later - just knowing how much alcohol Sabine can consume in an hour.

Minutes after ordering and waiting for their food, it finally arrived at their table with a smile from their server who gladly served them, giving them their needs and wants.

As seconds turned into minutes, minutes turned into hours, Sabine excused herself to go to the washroom where she came across a man who looked like he was the same age as them. He had an all-black suit that perfectly fit him, tightly hugging his physique. The latter stood tall over Sabine, their gaze landing on each other, his eyes observing every detail of her. His hair was pushed back, neatly brushed with some gel. Golden lines on the side of his head that runs down to the side of his body caught her attention. He somewhat matched the restaurant's aesthetic.

Out of respect, he lowered his head, bowing to her as he passed by and quickly lifted his head to take one last look before walking away.

Sabine entered the washroom with caution, washing her hands while looking in the mirror, checking for any flaws. Nothing. For now. She took a bit of time retouching her makeup and readjusting her dress while John looked around, skimming through the restaurant. For him, something felt a bit off. Some people at the restaurant have been glancing at home back and forth, giving him looks while some just kindly smiled. Weird.

Though, as his face lit up after seeing the woman he loves, he couldn't take the looks and faces they were giving him off of his mind. A minute or two after Sabine sat back down on her seat, a small fight broke out - a Russian couple arguing about something in their language.

It almost turned into a small commotion, involving another couple sitting at a table beside them. The servers came and quickly stopped them, apologizing to everyone sitting around them.

"Some couples just can't tone down their arguments, huh." Desserts came and were served to their table, handing out each and every one they ordered. "Kinda funny because I can imagine us being like that." John winked at Sabine after their eyes met. Her eyes slightly widened but then looked away, trying to hide her blush.

Does he know about my plan on making it official with him?

Sabine took a few sips of her wine before clearing her throat, preparing the words she was going to say to make them official. He's a good guy. Patient, hard-working, understanding. What can go wrong with him, right?
