Lights in the protocol-owned jet flickered for a few seconds, producing a muffled buzzing sound before Kay-O repaired it with such speed that Sabine couldn't comprehend.

Loose screws flew in her direction but were caught by the killing machine before it even touched her skin. She let her blurred vision clear up, adjusting to the brightness surrounding her with her eyebrows knitted together; lines on her forehead appearing in slight confusion. The brightness felt like someone had a bright flashlight aimed right at her face before she even woke up. It somewhat felt like her eyes were burning.

Upon looking around the jet, she had noticed that her head rested well on Chamber's shoulder, feeling a bit of his muscles in which gave her a comforting feeling — where she didn't want to move away. The doctor still wore her skin-tight dress with Chamber's blazer placed over her shoulder, shielding her body from the cold.

Faces with worry plastered on them met her gaze the moment she woke up. The Valorant agents silently checked in on her and Chamber from time to time. No one exchanged words despite hundreds of questions wanting to be asked in temptation upon seeing the distance between the two middle-aged adults.

Their professional gunman had his chin on the palm of his hand, eyebrows furrowed as his other hand held Sabine's tightly enough to not hurt her. Every twist and turn; any movement that his hands made underneath the jet's dimmed lighting, veins on his wrists that ran along his arms became evident. It was due to the frustration Chamber felt. The disappointment in himself.

Chamber had his jaw clenched, suppressing his emotions to not cause any questions to arise; preferring to keep it to himself.

Not like the rowdiness she witnessed inside the cafetorium, the whole ride home was quiet. Except for the sound of Skye's pet licking her knee in an attempt of comfort, whimpering in worry. Skye gently shushed it before letting her flower bud blossom, healing Sabine's arm. But noticing how deep the shot was, she left it for Sage to remove.

The engine hummed in her ears, silencing the sound of her uneven breathing pattern that slowly adjusted to a normal one, almost forgetting about the fact that she just got shot in the arm minutes ago.

Despite not wanting to admit it, she was thankful to have Chamber sitting by her side. She had him reassure her even though she didn't ask him for it. Not much pain was felt due to Skye's healing, but surely, being a doctor herself, she was not in a better nor good condition.

The middle-aged woman dreaded the time of her having to walk inside Sage's clinic, her hand to support her other arm. The thought of having to walk around with a bullet wound in her arm was too much for her comfort.

How am I going to walk fast in this condition? Just as she thought of that question, an ear-piercing sound was produced; surely deafening those who didn't wear an earpiece — her. The doors to the jet opened, sliding up like a garage while the tail end of the flooring they were stepping on extended like a path. Wind harshly hit her in the face, blowing hair strands off of her face, causing her to squint slightly from the force as the jet made contact with the ground safely.

A familiar dash of footsteps was heard, flashing a grin at the other agents.

A protective hand was felt on her waist before exiting the protocol's jet. Sabine checked the hand and then glanced up to match the owner's eyes — hazelnut; sending a different feeling in her body. The kind of feeling that she has never felt with John. A different kind of warmth.

Stop.

"Let's go, mademoiselle."

An agent with blue, medium-length hair that had streaks of bright yellow were tied up into a pair of pigtails met their gaze, small head nods were shared between her and Skye, listening to the instructions given to her. Immediately complying with all of them.
