Hello! This the last short chapter, just so you know! Enjoy!

Chapter 5:

I sprinted through the double wide doors eager but nervous to find out the news. Small, pitchy beeps filled the air with a disturbing ring.

"Where is John Blue?" I sternly asked the receptionist.

"Room 202 in ICU."

I immediately started running down the long, pale corridor. Just as I arrived at the Intensive Care Unit entrance, I halted.

"Where do you think you are going? Care givers only." The tall colored man spoke in a low voice.

"My father is in there! He was in a fire, let me in!" I forced.

The man, I assumed was an EMT, directed me toward the waiting room across the hall.

"You wait here." He growled.

I peered into the waiting room appalled by the disrespect the man gave me. My eyes gazed walls white as snow with random spread pictures on them. Soft, irritating music played through ceiling speakers with an annoying muffle. Green chairs lined the walls and several rows in the center. My eyes followed the seating arrangement until I spotted a person seated in the back. As I focused my tired eyes, he looked up with a face full of concern. I took a few steps forward as he stood up.

"What are you doing here?" I stuttered holding back tears.

"I wanted to make sure you were okay." Niall returned.

I kept silent. There was no distinct reason, I guess I just didn't know how to response to what I saw at the scene.

"Come here." Niall said opening his arm to invite me in for a hug.

I wasn't one to show vulnerability but he almost left me with no choice. My martyr heart couldn't resist the look of his innocent face. I took a hesitant step forward and he met me in the middle engulfing his strong arms around my cold back. The warmth and comforting support his body provided was enough for me to break. As I stood there, crying on his shoulder, I tried to find the courage to ask him what happened.

"What happened out there? With you a-and my dad?" I stumbled over my words. His hand slid down to the small of my back, glided around my waist and off of my body. I didn't like he feeling that accompanied the extraction of his hands. I felt defenseless.

"You saw didn't you? I guess there's not much to explain." His voice shook with insecurity.

"You're an angel?"

He shook his head in agreement. Everything suddenly fell into place. Sneaking past me at Macy's, catching me when I fell, it all made sense.

"Come on you need rest." He guided me to the chairs.

I sat in silence, clinging to his arm and resting my head on his shoulder. His lightly rested on mine. Every so often he would plant small kisses on my forehead.

Several questions ran through my mind. Am I falling in love with an angel? Did he know there was going to be a fire? He seemed to know everything else. How come I saw but no one else did? My overactive mind diminished as I cried myself into a deep sleep.
