Chapter 23:
"I missed you so much." Niall gushed to Lana as they broke the hug. "And this is Eve."
"Oh my goodness! Eve! You are even cuter than Niall described you!" Lana complimented me.
I found it hard to believe considering I had gotten in a fight, slept in an airport, almost crashed and could barely walk.
"Thank you. It's nice to finally meet you!" I replied timidly.
"Oh there is no need to be shy! We ain't gonna hurt ya!" Her accent became very present.
Looks obviously ran in the Horan family. Lana had the same crystal blue eyes as Niall and long, curly dirty blonde hair to match. She was maybe and inch shorter than Niall, making her about three inches taller than me. She was mature but still have a youthful sparkle in her eyes that made her truly gorgeous.
We went out to her car and drove away from the airport. The fresh air had a soothing effect on my lungs after being stuck inside for so long.
"Everyone is at the house. I think they are even preparing a whole feast for you guys!" Lana exclaimed.
"Who's everyone?" I nervously responded.
"Our parent, our brother Ben, our cousins and some other relatives."
Oh gosh what had I gotten myself into?
"They are going to love you Eve." Lana reassured but I didn't quite believe her.
"How do you feel Hun?" Niall changed the subject.
"Uhh okay. I guess. My head is still throbbing."
"Want some ibuprofen? I've got some in the center consul." Lana asked enthusiastically.
"Yeah that would be great. Thanks." I shy responded.
"You are more than welcome! There are a few water bottles under the seat along with a blanket if you want to rest."
"You are prepared," I giggled. "You must've known how klutzy I am."
"I might have mentioned it." Niall laughed and joked along.
"How far away is Mullingar?" I questioned.
"About an hour. Maybe a little longer. We might hit some traffic near Lucan." Lana answered.
She knew what she was talking about and within minutes we were barely moving. The stop and go made my head go all fuzzy like my brain was stuck in an ocean swell; up and down and up and down. I wrapped the blanket up and tucked it around my neck so it supported my aching head hoping it would ease the pain that the ibuprofen didn't. It helped enough to make me fall asleep as soon as the rolling motion smoothed out consistently.
"Eve. Wake up! We are almost there!" Niall spoke with excitement.
I sat up and focused on my surrounding. We were in a very modern town with somewhat Victorian decor.
"Are you ready?" Niall yelled in my face.
I shook my head no.
"I'm freaking terrified!" I yelled back.
"Oh shut up. They are gonna love you and you'll feel right at home."
I was taking his word for that.
As quickly as I could I tried to freshen up to make myself look as nice as possible. We made a sharp left turn and a few houses down I saw kids playing in the front yard of a big house with many cars in the driveway and lined in the road. A whole new set of nerves came. I didn't expect all of this to be happening so fast. The car rolled to a complete stop and bodies flew out from the house. Niall popped out of the car, only giving a peek to his rushing family members, and opened my door. Just as the warm sun hit my skin so did screams.
