"Captain why were you in Lyla's apartment on the night?"Alexander Pierce asked, during their conversation in the large office"I understand Mr Diggle's presence but you on the other hand"

"Diggle just got let out of prison, I wanted to check up on him"Y/N answered"Lyla being there was just a coincidence"

"You know it was bugged?"Alexander told him 

"I did, because Lyla told me"Y/N answered

"Did she tell she was the one who bugged it?"Pierce asked but Y/N didn't give him an answer"You remember a mission a couple months ago with Batroc on the lemurian star?"

"I do"Y/N answer before Pierce turned on a screen from his place on the leather sofa, showing an interrogation

"I gathered some intel personally, and worryingly some of it leads to Lyla"Pierce said

"You're saying Lyla's involved in groups against Argus?"Y/N challenged"If you really knew Lyla Michaels than you'd know that's not true"

"People like us want to build a better world"Pierce said, standing up and walking over to his large office view, making Y/N stand up and put his hands on his belt"Sometimes that means turning down our old one, and that makes enemies"Turning back to Y/N"Those people that call you dirty because you got the guts to stick your hands in the mud to build something better, and the idea that those people could be happy today.Makes me really, really angry.Captain you were one of the last to see Lyla before she went into coma and I don't think that's an accident, as we don't know when or whether she'll wake up, so I'll ask again, Why were you in Lyla's apartment on that night?"

"She told me she needed a favour, she was in trouble and that I couldn't trust anyone"Y/N responded

"I wonder, if that included her"Pierce replied before they stood in silence

"I'm sorry, those were her last words"Y/N repeated"Excuse me"Grabbing his shield and putting it on his back as he walked towards the door

"Captain"Pierce called out, making him turn"Somebody tried to murder my friend, I'm gonna find out why.Anyone gets in my way they're gonna regret it.Anyone"Emphasising the point

"Understood"Y/N said before walking out, over to the awaiting elevator and stepping in, telling it to go to the ground floor as he walked to one of it's glass sides and putting both his hands on the railing, thinking about his next move

The elevator only made it a few floors before it opened again, letting in:Natasha, Rumlow and other Strike team members

"I get it, it's a nice view"Natasha said, making Y/N turn around to see the new occupants

"Nice to see you again Cap"Rumlow greeted and Y/N nodded in response, before Rumlow went to talk with some others

"We got a potential threat on the roof, want in?"Natasha asked while Y/N noticed the Strike team's guard up

"I got something to do"Y/N answered before the elevator picked up more Argus personnel, in more formal uniforms as they spoke to each other, most with briefcases 

"Excuse me"One said, making Y/N move slightly left before decided to stand in the middle of the elevator as everyones conversations continued, more uncomfortably closer to Natasha

Before Natasha purposefully tripped into Y/N, who didn't move as he caught her 

"I had a clumsy girlfriend"Y/N replied before she could ask the question as he let go of her as she stood up, turning around so her back was facing him and without Y/N noticing as he was distracted, inching her back closer to him before he grabbed her and pulled her closer"You can't seduce me"He whispered into her ear
