Chapter twenty-nine

Olivia's pov:
September 2021

"Finally, home!" Charles said as he unlocked the front door to his apartment, and we walked inside. "God I have missed being home" I said and put down my bag on the floor next to the kitchen island.. We had just arrived after being away for a few weeks.

First we were in The Netherlands, we stayed there a few days before leaving for Italy where the next race were, then after the race we were scheduled to head back home, but Charles had a few things to do in Italy with the team, so we decided to stay there and have a mini-vacation, then we left for Russia where we just have been. The two races, Monza and Sochi were a bit mixed..
In Monza Charles finished in p4 which was great, but Max had a huge crash with Lewis which the stewards decided was Max's fault, so he got a three grid penalty for the race in Russia, and then also two penalty points in his super license..
In Sochi, it went better for Max as he finished p2, but Charles finished p15 because he had a bad qualifying and couldn't keep up, it was a bad race weekend for him..

Oh and two amazing things happened in Monza.. Lando finished p2 which was really amazing, he did his famous champagne smash and was so happy. But more important Daniel finished freaking p1 I was over the moon and so happy for my best friend, we celebrated his win together and it was awesome, he did a shoey of course, and Lando did his first shoey with him, they even got Zak to join them, it was such a perfect week for McLaren, I was so happy for the whole team, it was their first victory since 2012 in Brazil, and their first one-two finish since 2010 in Canada, that's crazy!

But we are now home until mid next week, where we are headed to Turkey, which is exciting. But before we head to Turkey, we have Max and my birthday in only three days. I have no idea what we are gonna do on our birthday to be honest..

Charles's pov:

I woke up about an hour before Olivia, so I gently walked out of the bedroom and went to the kitchen where I started to make some breakfast for her. It's the 30th of September which means it's her birthday, and I am gonna spoil her all day! First up we have breakfast incoming, which I know she will love very much..
I started to make pancakes because I know how big a fan she is of pancakes with fresh fruit. I also made some scrambled eggs and bacon. And a cup of fresh hot coffee with milk, all her favorite things!.. It took me a while to make this since I'm not the one who's usually in the kitchen, but I did very well if I should say so..

I sat the table with some of her gifts and the breakfast which looked really good, then I blew up a few balloons which had the number 24 on, since she is turning 24 years old..
After I had got everything ready I walked to the bedroom where she was still sleeping, she looked beautiful and very peaceful. I didn't really wanna wake her up, but she can't sleep all day long, I have everything planned for today!..
I tried to wake her up, and after a few attempts it worked out. "Good Morning mon amour!" I said and ran my fingers through her hair. "Goodmorning..What is it that smells so good?" she asked confused while she rubbed her eyes.. "Come and see!" I said and smiled big.
After a few minutes she got out of bed and walked with me to the kitchen where I had got everything ready at the dining table.

"Happy Birthday!!" I said and smiled. "Aw babe, you didn't have to do this!-Thanks' ' she said and hugged me tight. "Anything for my birthday girl" I said as our lips touched.
"You are the best!" she said and then walked to the table, to get some food. We ate breakfast which was lovely, and way better than I expected. We talked over breakfast, and afterwards she started to unwrap the presents..

I got her some jewelry I knew she really wanted and then also a new designer bag that she had been looking at for a few months now. "Thank you so much, it's too much" she said and went to give me a hug and kiss after she had unwrapped them. "Of course, but there's still one more present!" I said and smiled. "No really? I don't need that much Charles" she said, surprised. "Of course you do, you deserve the world! But you'll get that present later" I said and smiled, which she did too. "You are too good to be true" she said while resting her head on my chest, where I still held my arms around her in a hug.
