Place: The Bus and the City

Time: Late Afternoon sometime.

We were drenched in seconds as we exited the building, lighting continued to flash. Some abnormally large moving object caught my eye above us. We hurried on and looked back toward the school to see if the massive creature was following us. There was no sign of it. I breathed a sigh of relief.

I walked up to the driver, "We need to get to Baylor hospital now!"

"Are you crazy!? We are driving until this is over, now go sit down" He yelled back at me thinking that he was in control.

"This nightmare won't be over until we go there and see how we can fix it." I pleaded.

"What do you mean?" Tamara asked.

"Earlier, before we got locked into the hellscape school, we were able to get a news feed on my tablet." I started to explain.

The driver closed the doors and started to urge us to all sit down.

"Whatever happened here is happening to all of the area but there are heavy concentrations of monsters in 2 other buildings, Baylor Hospital and some executive building. I didn't get the address."

"So that's why you think that we should go to Baylor and see if there is something else there that will release the area." Tamara inquired.

"About that," Jeremy started, "How is this 'Release?'". He pointed out the window gesturing to the outside world.

Everything was still pitch black because of the rain and the sky. I could probably make out a few creatures walking around, but there were kids everywhere, getting on buses, in car's, running into other buildings and so on. It feels like we are still in some other dimension, possibly overlaid onto the real world.

Thinking back, there were children in all the classrooms before I left Mr. Cranes room, though shortly after I left, the school was, became, different. Things and creatures hanging from the ceiling, furniture destroyed or moved and floors ripped and destroyed. When we got the book and the pillar of light shown, the school returned to normal. Or did we move back into the normal world and somehow bring these nightmares with us?

"This has got to be the real world" I stated, with no further explanation. I noticed the bus was beginning to move. I looked around, the bus was full of children. The decision I was going to make was going to affect everyone on this bus, but if we didn't they all might die anyway. This is a lose, lose for them I thought coldly.

"Driver", I said in a threatening voice. "Take us to Baylor hospital now!" My sword was now poking his side.

Tamara noticed and was taken aback by my actions. I felt ashamed of myself as I caught her glance. I moved the sword down but I could already see the driver was shaken.

"Look, we need to get there and I realize that this bus is full of scared people, including myself." I started, "We need to find a stop part of the way there and drop these people off. The closer we got, the more monsters there will be. I'll get on GPS and find something along the way.

"Vahn!" I turned at the sound of Jeremy's voice. "We need to get moving NOW! He shouted.

Behind us was a massive creature on four legs and a large horn on its front, almost like a rhinoceros.

"Go!" I shouted at the driver.

He slammed the pedal down sending me flying backwards into Tamara's arms. I looked up at her thankfully, yet still ashamed.

"One thing my dad always said, there's a peaceful solution to almost anything. " She said calmly despite the circumstances. "Thank you for trying to find a safe solution for the others on board."
