Place: Unknown

Time: Unknown.

The cloaked man closed the door behind them as we cautiously walked through.  The room was pitch black, and as the man walked in but at the cloaked figure walked through, a spotlight shown down upon him as he neared the center of the room.  We couldn't tell how large the room was, where it started or where it ended. Only that there was  some light source about 50 feet up

"Small exposition time." He said, his voice more sinister than before.

"Thank you for helping me as much as you have. I've been monitoring your progress since you were chosen."

What does he mean by chosen. Who and how were the first questions to come to mind. But before I could say anything, he continued.

"You've successfully restored the balance at three of the locations. Heaven and hell and earth all merging into one nice cocktail."

I swear I could see a smile on his veiled face.

"The school, a place of learning and growing. The hospital, a place of birth and death. And the sky scraper, a ladder to the heaven."

What is he saying.  I was compelled to stay silent, I shifted my eyes to the other two Vahn's around me and they stared in silence as well.

"While you thought you were saving this world from whatever was happening, you was actually helping me. This ritual brought three pieces of a book into this world, a book hidden away by ancient magics"

He took them!

"Oh yes, magic is real, but it's been lost to time, dulled down and corrupted by technology, but now I have the source and we get to really see what the imagination can conjure."

The light above switched off and we were consumed by darkness once again, only to be shrouded in light moments later blinding us.

A blue light disappeared above the man within is chamber. He walked backed over to his computer to where the book lay.

He picked up the book and walked back to his chair in the center of the room. After flipping a few pages he stopped.

"They will be here soon, I need to hurry and get the gates ready."

He looked down at the page that held strange symbols and words in a language possibly only he knew.  He began to speak the words and make gestures with his free hand. The lights in the room dimmed and a small breeze kicked on soon after he read a few word. The book began to glow an eerie orange color as he continued on, the lights now fully dimmed as if something was sucking the energy from the air.

Sparks began to crackle around the man as he neared completion, he arms moving in a precise rhythm to his words. At the apex of the spell, everything ceased as if in the eye of a hurricane, the lights returned to normal.

The room began to shake and tremble and a smile grew on his face. Behind the chair something began to rise from the ground. Two stone archways grew from nothing standing tall as doors and when they finished moving, they began to start glowing. One white and one black.

A small breeze flowed around the room into the doors. They seemed to be sucking something in. Again, the lights dimmed and flickered, this time only slightly, not as violently as before.

"It's just about ready"
