I swung my lance around and jammed it into the key hole, the metal gave way easily enough, but not enough to break the door. Vahn grabbed hold of me and tried to urge me to go. I pushed him off. If this totem behind the gate really did have part of Vahn in him, I have to get him out and protect him.

Again, I shot the lance through where I thought the latch was, this time, hitting and breaking it. The cage opened, Vahn out rushed and and punched me stomach. I toppled over onto the floor.

"That's for the shit you and your friends put me through in freshman year. You think this little squirt forgave you, even though he had a crush on you?" Vahn spit on the ground. "Lets go"

Ugh, he must have all of Vahn's memories to, have I not been put through enough for my behavior.

He grabbed me by my arm, grabbed the sword on the ground and kicked the other Vahn on the floor.

"Ugh! Leave her alone!" Vahn yelled at the other one.

"Let go of me!" I got from of his arm and pushed him into the prison doors.  Taking a quick look, to the side. My heart skipped a beat, Scythe was no more than twenty feet from us by this point.

"We don't have time for this" I helped Vahn of the ground and we started for exit to the prison which thankfully wasn't far.

Evil Vahn had followed behind, looking at Scythe, almost daring him to run at him.

The newest room was a simple box shaped room, fairly large, almost fifty by fifty if I had to guess with 4 identical doors on each face. We want to the other side, and opened it, ending up right back where we were. We tried the right door and ended up on the left side of the room.

Trapped. We backed up to the center of the room waiting for what we knew was coming. The thing that has been chasing, driving us since the very beginning.

"Hey, You better help fight" Vahn addressed Vahn.

"I can't, I can't move my legs. Just let me stay here and die.." He said, face staring down at the ground.

"You fool, if you die, I die also."

It entered, slowly, menacingly. Its weapon clanked on the ground as it walked toward us.

I didn't know what we were going to do, Vahn was sitting on on the ground now, paralyzed in fear, we were going to have to protect him as we tried to attack.

The other Vahn stepped in front of us, at least his confidence brought with it some guardianship. Or maybe it was just selfish preservation.

"Get him back in the corner while I distract him." He commanded me.

I did as I was told and grabbed Vahn by the arm and pulled him over to the side. Then pulled my gun out and loaded a fresh clip.

Scythe walked right up to Vahn in the center of the room,  raised his weapon over head and slammed in down into the ground. Vahn dodged to the left side of the creature, having two drawn swords now, swinging one into its side. The familiar clank of metal on metal could be heard as the kodachi hit. Scythe swung his arm toward him and Vahn went flying across the room sliding on the floor a few inches holding his chest in pain.

"Ugh!" he cried out. Anger and anguish filling his face.

I knew it was going to be up to me, I knew it as soon as I grabbed the lance.  I charged, firing my gun a few times to hopefully distract him, the sound of metal on metal reverberating around the room. It turned to face me fully and caught the lance with its bare hands as I tried to thrust it forward.
