The Hospital.

Time: Early Evening

The towering hospital loomed over us with a dark atmosphere that sent chills through our bones. Windows were shattered; people lie on the ground as though thrown from those very same windows. While the rain was easing up a little, the water still seemed to be rising, maybe the drainage system was backed up by dead bodies. A shudder took over me at the thought and I pushed it from my mind.

The entrance of the building contained a massive turn style door, most likely for wheelchair access. Miraculously, it was still working though a part of me was to nervous to go through it given everything that we went through. I choose one of the normal double doors on the left.

Expectantly, all of the lights were off. My eyes were pretty much already adjusted to the darkness, yet I will still squinting while trying to take in my surroundings. A light emanated from behind me and I turned to see Jeremy with his flight light  brightening the area. Tamara came up from behind him and gave me my backpack.

"I've never been in this hospital before" Jeremy started. "Either of you?"

"No" we both replied.

"I guess we have some exploring to do, better get to it" He started shining the light around the room.

The reception area consisted of a reception desk area enclosed by glass with a speaker for the guests to speak through. The rest of the area expanded into an L- Shaped lobby area, empty chairs and wheelchairs were scattered about. At the end of the longer half of the "L" were the large double doors to the hospital proper. For a large hospital, this one had a very small reception area.

"What are a looking for exactly?" Jeremy asked?

"No idea, maybe some sort of switch that will activate something to bring us out of this hell hole and back into the real world" I stated, almost with a chuckle.

"What if this is the real world?" a quiet pause followed Tamara's question.

We started walking towards the large double doors when a light hit us from an open door to the receptionist area. We walked in and found a bright lamp illuminating something on a table against the wall.  On the table was a small toy doll with a pin in its head and a note inside an envelope. I grabbed the note and opened it.

The letter had a doll printed on it with a pin in her head with a few words under the picture, the word read: "Complete me, I am lonely." I turned the letter over and found a larger paragraph on the back.

"Split up if you dare, but be warned, if you take to long, the hospital will fall. The doll's brother will be your only way out. There are six parts to the doll: head, body, arm, two legs and a needle. Be quick or they will come for you."

"Well, I guess we know what we're looking for now, but we don't have a clue where to start looking." I said.

The realization dawned on us that we were going to have to split up to cover more ground. Fear and anticipation for the inevitable.

I sighed, "I'll take the top floor and work my way down, if this is a game, I would expect that they have areas blocked off so we can get through this quicker."

Tamara and Jeremy reluctantly nodded. The idea that someone was playing with us was unnerving.

"I'll take this floor and work my way up" Tamara stated.

"I guess I'll pick a floor in the middle and look around." Jeremy groaned.

"Okay, well, I guess we can all explore this floor together since we  need to find some stairs or an elevator" I suggested and started back toward the double doors.
