Chapter 16 - The Case

Wednesday's POV

I would be lying to say I was shocked when me and Xavier found her in a pool of blood. She confessed to me, what did she expect? But never less me and Xavier took her to the nurses then being questioned by our new principal, Mr Kelly. We told him we just found her while walking to the kitchens. He seemed to believe it, sending us back immediately after the police arrived.

We were walking back to Xavier's dorm after texting Ajax about what happened saying we are going to be a bit late.
"Who would do it, the stalker is obviously a student now, or a teacher. But why would they pay Yoko do take photos if they are here themselves." I questioned out loud.
"To be less suspicious I guess." Xavier said.
We entered Xavier's room, him still a bit shaken up.
"God, you'd expect a school of outcasts to be good after all the problems we've been through." He started pacing the floor freaking out, running his hands through his hair. He obviously needed to calm down.

I stood up stepping in his way. "It's fine Xavier, Yoko's fine." I told him. He stopped.
"I'm not worried about her, I'm worried about you, these people, their always after you! I can't lose you, I love you." He said softening his voice at the end.
It made my stomach swirl again, it's nice knowing he cares about me, but I can take care of myself. I hugged his waist standing there, he slowly hugged back kissing my forehead.
"Your not going to lose me, we dealt with a monster last year, and a dead pilgrim. I can handle a murderous student." I told him looking up.
It's almost as if I saw a lightbulb go off in Xavier's head.

"Dylan." He spoke. "I saw him exiting the bathroom today, looking guilty." It's moments like this, thanking my heart for falling for him.
I kissed him.
"Thank you, now I have one more investigation into my case. But that can wait till tomorrow, I imagine Dylan is hiding somewhere till Yoko's body gets found."
So me and Xavier walked hand in hand to my dorm expecting Enid and Ajax freaking out, but they were fast asleep cuddling. So me and Xavier took a picture, knowing Enid is going to want it, then laying next to them.
"Xavier?" I spoke with my head on his chest. I was fiddling with the necklace he got me.
"Yes Nes?" He said looking down to me.
"Why do you like me?" I asked, I remember the night in the library when Uncle Fester was helping me and Xavier found me. We got into an argument and I did that he liked me. He replied with 'What's to like'. It stung, I didn't realise why it hurt then but it was a question grating in the back of my mind.

"What's not to like." He said. It's almost like he read my mind.
"I was lying, that night in the library, I was jealous of you and Tyler and well I thought if I was mean to you, you would get out of my head." He said both of us sitting up and facing each other, having to talk very quietly or we would wake up the snoring Ajax and Enid.
"I like the way you smirk when you figure something out or find something funny, I like the way you always have those plaits, but I also like when you have your hair out, like our first 'date'. I like that you help people without realising it, I like that your so evil, that your actually good." He said staring at me.
"And most of all, I don't just like you, I love you. Why else would I get you that necklace."
The entire speech made my heart seem to melt, is this what my parents feel?

I grabbed his shirt and kissed him, it was long and passionate. We pulled away, foreheads touching.
"I like that you love me." I smirked and him and he broke out in a grin.
We laid back down with my head under his chin and fell asleep.

We woke up to a flash, great just what I need Enid.
I heard Xavier groan and cuddle into me more.
"Awww, Ajax looking at how cute they are." I hear Enid whisper.
"Enid, walk away." I said sternly. She got the memo and stopped taking photos.
I opened my eyes to see Xavier still asleep, so I didn't move for a bit.
"Damn Wednesday, you make my boy happy. I mean this guy was whipped for you ever since you saved his life." He said.
"I don't know what whipped means but I imagine it means 'liked'." I replied confused.
"Close enough." Ajax said smirking and kissing Enid on the cheek, causing her to blush.
"Alright it's Saturday what are we doing." Enid said.
"I have to investigate my case more." I said.
Xavier started to wake up causing him to sit up.

"What are you talking about." He asked.
"What we are doing today, Wednesday can't come cause of her case but me and Enid were going to into town." He asked grabbing Enid's hand.
"Yeah they are having this cool like drive in with this big projector in towns square!" Enid said very excited.
"And 3rd wheel, nah but I'll catch the later bus and meet you there at 6:30 to watch the movie." Xavier said. "I'm gonna do some painting. See you guys later." Xavier kissed me goodbye and walked out.

I was sitting there blushing and Ajax and Enid were staring at me.
I showed them the picture of them cuddling. "Don't act like you weren't doing the same thing last night." This got them to leave for town, or they were going to miss the early bus.
I sat there with thing on my shoulder researching if it could really be Dylan's. I went looking throughout the school and Dylan's was no where to be found. Bianca told me she saw him exit the school and go into a car, something about a family vacation this weekend. So here I am, just finishing my novel at 6.
Thing tapped my shoulder.
You should go into Town.
"No thing I am too busy."
No your not, come on we both know you want to spend time with Xavier.
"I've spent all week with him Thing, he might want space."
Be serious, he loves you. If you don't go i'm not talking to you. Go get ready, and make it fancy.
"Fine, only because I need you to talk to me for the case."

Thing commanded me on what to wear an show to style my hair. I tied my hair back into a messy bun.
He then picked out an outfit. It wasn't bad, a black mini skirt with a black sweater and white collar peaking out on top. Lastly he gave me my platform loafers and stockings. I put in my wired headphones and listened to some classical music, the song me and Xavier danced to the night he stayed in my house came up making me slightly smile.

I walked downstairs out the front and recognised Xavier's figure. He heard me walking and turned around, he seemed shocked that I was here and partially shocked about my outfit.
He came up to me and spun me around.
"Am I lucky or what." He smiled kissing me.

The bus pulled up and me and Xavier sat on the window. I gave him one of my headphones and pressed play on the song we danced too.
He smiled and kissed my forehead, holding my hand and rubbing it with his thumb.

That stupid feeling in my stomach.
