Chapter 28 - Detention

Wednesday's POV

It is now the day later and I'm heading to detention. I knock on the the door of the classroom and see Uncle Fester.
"Hey kid! Come have a seat." He says waving me in. I sit down at a desk and take my notebook out of my bag.
"We're not actually doing work!" He says smiling.
I close my notebook and face him.
"What are we doing?" I ask.

"Well I thought we could talk about how you've been travelling fencing wise?" He asks.
"Fine. I've started training more. I beat Bianca in a fight. She did not enjoy defeat, it made the win even better." I started starting to smirk at the memory of her face. Though she did accept defeat in the end, realising I was the better person.

"Ok, while I have you here." Uncle Fester begins hearing a knock on the door.
"Uhh, Principal Alexander, someone is here to see you." The teacher that walked me to the office yesterday says. I read her name tag and see her name is Judas. But then I look at her face and she looks flustered?

She's staring at Uncle Fester and I see a blush rise to her cheeks. I smirk, this Judas likes Uncle Fester.
"Ok, I won't keep you Wednesday, your detention is over." He says leaving the room after winking at me.

I pack up my bag after that very short detention and head to my dorm. I walk in seeing Enid on her bed.
"How was detention?" She asks looking up from her phone.
"Fine. It was cut short. This lady named Judas who has a crush on Uncle Fester took him away." I stated.
"That's so cute! What if they get married." Enid says meeting me in the middle of the room.

"Uncle Fester is very independent, I think he is too oblivious about love to realise she likes him." I explained.
"Well you were oblivious too but Xavier changed your mindset." Enid smirked proudly. Not having a comeback I walked back to my area grabbing my pajamas go change into.

"Speaking of Xavier.. I'm going to Ajax's and his room, want to come?" She asks hopeful.
I think about it for a second. I wanted to spend the night writing or playing my cello. But Enid would be disappointed if I didn't go.
"Fine, but it has to be a quick visit." I say.

Not bothering to change out of our pajamas we sneak around the school trying not to get caught going to the boy's room.
We arrive and Enid walks in with me following.
Xavier and Ajax are laying on their beds. Ajax puts his phone down as Enid sits on his bed.
I walk over to Xavier's bed. He looks up and seems surprised to see me. But he smiles and opens his arms as I lay next to him.

I lay my head on his chest.
"How was your detention?" He asks.
"Short, a lady came to talk to Uncle Fester." I said.
"A lady who has a crush on him!" Enid says smiling.
"What. Uncle Fester gets girls now." Ajax says laughing. Enid and Xavier join in but I was too tired to be social.

"Uncle Fester is very independent. The last wife he had tried to kill us all." I said sitting up.
"Sometimes I wonder how your family survives these near death experiences." Ajax says shaking his head.
"Bad luck." I reply.
"Thank god for bad luck then." Xavier says kissing my head.

"Can you guys believe next year is our last year at nevermore." Enid says. We're now sitting on the floor eating doritos.
"Then we're like adults." Ajax states. He looks like his head just exploded with this information.
"What are we even going to do." Xavier says.
"I know what I want to do, I want to get into fashion. Be like iconic for my looks." Enid says proudly. Ajax smiles at her and tucks her hair behind her ear.

"I don't know what I want to do. I really like photography though. I can take pictures of people and look at them without worrying of stoning them." Ajax says smiling. It was a very smart career for him actually. I was shocked he had smart ideas.

"Well, I'm obviously going to become a world rebound painter." Xavier smiles sarcastically.
"And I think I know what your going to do." He says pointing at me.

"I'll realise my novels. Authors now a days are so perky. It disgusts me." I say. Everyone laughs, I try not to but a small smile makes it on my lips.

It's 12 am and even though it's Friday night, me and Enid wanted to sleep in our dorm.
Enid kisses Ajax goodbye and they have a quick conversation waiting for me and Xavier to say goodbye.
"I'll see you tomorrow okay?" He asks grabbing my hand.
"Okay." I reply looking up at him.
He kisses me goodbye. It was short since Enid and Ajax were there but it said what we were both thinking.

Me and Enid make it to our room.
"You and Xavier are so cute! I can't wait for you to get married." Enid exclaims as we walk in.
"Marriage?" I ask questioning her. Marriage has never made it to my mind. My mother and Father married young but I never thought about it.
"Yeah, you would want to marry him right?" She asked looking worried.

I thought about it. Did I want to spend my life with Xavier? It's not like he would hold me back as a person or author but I never liked the idea to settle down.
But as I thought about the idea of settling down with Xavier. It might not be too bad.
"I think.. I would." I questioned myself as the words exited my mouth.

Enid jumped up squeeling.
"That's so great! Me and Ajax can live right next door to you and Xavier!" She says jumping up and hugging me.
I let her have her moment by patting her on the back awkwardly.

As I go to sleep I think about the idea of marriage more. I used to hate it. My idea of it based on Mother and Father, but now I find myself with those butterflies in my stomach thinking about it.
