Woah its some art I made for this chapter ^^ (the ship was SO hard to draw)
TWs: Mentions of death and hypothermia

The waves churned beneath The Crow's Nest. I'd evacuated the ship in preference of floating above it, and I was glad I did so because it was now pitching violently from side to side and from front to back. Everyone on the ship was hanging onto whatever they could to keep from being flung into the ocean.
This storm had been going on for about 30 minutes now, and it showed no signs of stopping. Dark clouds were towering into the sky and heavy rain was pouring from them, making everything wet and miserable. Although I was an almost-god, I was still affected by the rain, which was soaking through my clothes and seaping into my skin. It was so cold. I couldn't imagine how much worse everyone on the ship must feel right now. They don't only have the rain to worry about, but the waves as well.
"How is it looking?" Cerulean asked from beside me. She'd stayed on the ship for the duration of the storm so far, but now they were hovering next to me, still fully visible. The crew of the ship + Sapnap were all looking on in awe.
I shook my head worridly. "There's no sign of this storm stopping anytime soon. It almost seems to be getting worse actually."
"That's not good. If the mortals don't die from getting thrown off the ship into the waves, they'll die of hypothermia. The rain is cold, and waves washing over every few minutes don't help at all."
Cerulean continued talking, but I wasn't paying attention to her anymore. Instead, I was squinting at something on the horizen, trying to see it clearer. It almost looked like a wave, but it couldn't be, right? It was much too big to be a wave.

Nevermind, it wasn't much too big to be a wave. It was actually the perfect size to be the biggest wave I'd ever witnessed by a mile. And . . . it was heading straight for the ship.
"CERULEAN!" I yelled, interupting whatever they were saying. "LOOK AHEAD!"
They followed my gaze and gasped. "That's- that's not possible! Waves can't grow to be that large."
"Well, I guess they can, because that is very clearly a huge wave headed straight for us and the ship."
"Waves like that don't form naturally." said Cerulean. "That is a magic-infused wave. Someone's trying to cause chaos." Her face hardened. "A god's trying to cause chaos."
"Why would one of the gods do that?" I asked.
"It isn't just any old god. It's the god of waves and currents."
