Last time, on Lightning in a Bottle:

"What the fuck is going on right now?" asked Sapnap, who was very confused. Winter was also confused, but on a lesser level.

Magnolia looked at me. "Should I explain?"

"Yeah. I usually would, but I can't."

"Actually," said a voice from behind me, "you will be able to in a couple minutes."

Now, back to the present

"Jupiter?" I asked, turning around.

"Hi." he said. "I'm just here to lift your punishment."

"But what about the universal balance?"

"Oh, I've found a different way to balance it, don't worry." Jupiter answered. There was a second of silence. "Now you should be able to talk to everyone again."

"Uh- hello." I spoke.

"BLU!" Sapnap shouted. Okay, I didn't know he'd be so excited to talk to me. I guess that was the benefit you got after saving someone's life multiple times.

"Good, it works." Jupiter said. "I'll be off now." Before I could even say goodbye, Jupiter was gone.

"So, uh, what were you going to explain earlier?" asked Winter, cutting off just about a full minute of awkward silence.

"Oh right-" started Magnolia.

"I can explain." I said, cutting her off. She nodded, giving me permission to tell the explanation. "I'm the almost-god of storytelling. I was muted by the head god, Jupiter, because I was talking to Sapnap so much it was swinging the universe out of balance."

Sapnap looked like he was about to argue, probably about how me not being muted was more important than the universe being out of balance, so I held up my hand and continued. "Jupiter, as head god, is in charge of making sure the universe stays in balance. If it goes out of balance, a lot of bad things happen. I don't quite know all of the events that would occur, but I do know that life as we know it would come to an end and all mortals would be fearing for their lives every day while the gods would be frantically trying to barter with the universe to swing it back into balance."

"So keeping the universe in balance is actually really important?" asked Sapnap.

"Yes." I answered. "Anyways, even though I was muted, I could still talk to Sapnap whenever he was in trouble, like when he almost drowned trying to swim to this island." I turned to Sapnap. "You can thank Valentina, god of soulmates, for keeping me from being banished."
