Hello, and welcome to Lightning in a Bottle, or LiaB! Here's the description in case you didn't see it:

To put it simply, this story is about two soulmates, a strange companion and narrator, and the adventure of a lifetime.

You're still curious, aren't you? Very well, I'll describe this story out in a bit more detail to you.

Karl is running away. Why? Well, he has a soulmate, and he's not too happy about it. He's seen the things love can do, and he isn't keen on having it for himself. His necklace had been dormant for 2 years and he'd thought that maybe his soulmate lived across the continent and he'd never have to worry about seeing them, but now the lightning was glowing, signalling that they were probably also in the Capital. It's a risk leaving the only thing he's known his entire life, the safety of the castle, but he has to get away from his soulmate. So, now he's walking away from the Capital, about to go on a wild adventure.

Sapnap, on the other hand, has been looking forward to meeting his soulmate for his entire life. When he wakes up the day after his 18th birthday to a gradually dimming necklace, he takes executive action and decides to follow his soulmate. The guy isn't much of a survivalist, but luckily he has a friend in the shape of an almost-god to help him along the way.

Before you start reading, I'd like to say a few things.

1. Like all of my other fanfics, I'm not shipping the people in real life that the characters in this fic are based off of. If anyone mentioned as being shipped in this fic ever says they're uncomfortable with it, I'll take this down and/or edit the shipping out. 

2. Please, no hate. If you have any constructive criticism, please leave it in the comments. I'm always striving to be a better writer. However, if you're just going to hate on my story, please don't comment. You most likely won't get a responce out of me anyway, which means you'll be wasting your time. 

3. The writing style in this isn't very serious. For that reason, the writing definitely isn't the best quality. If you're looking for a story of amazing quality instead, go check out my "Welcome to my Profile List" reading list.

4. I'm going to try to update this every Tuesday, but life happens. If I can't upload for some reason, I'll try to let you know. If I don't say anything, don't get too concerned. In that case, I probably just forgot, and you should probably say something in the comments to remind me to upload. If I'm gone for a month, this story will be considered discontinued.

5. I will post a trigger warning above each chapter. If you think I need to add anything to the warning, let me know. 

6. You're free to point out any spelling/grammar mistakes that you can find so I can fix them, or, if they're funny enough, just laugh at them. I know there are some authors who don't like that kind of stuff being pointed out, but I'm completely fine with it. You can even make fun of mistakes if you want to. 

7. Just like Talk To Me, this story features a few OCs to fill some roles that needed to be filled. Unlike Talk To Me, I'm not going to add a Meet The OCs chapter to this fic, mostly because I'm lazy.

8. Most images were generated using DeepAI. (I'll link it in the comments if I remember.) There also are a few drawings that I made myself for this fic. (it should be pretty obvious what things I drew myself lol)

9. There will be a map of Sapnap's (keep in mind that what Karl's doing isn't reflected) journey in almost every chapter. Above the image will be the color of the line that is showing the journey for that chapter.
