Julie's POV

"Julie!" Luke poked his head straight through the door before phasing into her bedroom.

She jumped, tossing a side-eye his way. "I'm trying to do homework. Don't come in here being all distracting."

"Calm down, I'm just saying hey." He stretched out on his back next to her, crossing his arms beneath his head. Sent her a smirk. "Besides, I can't help it if you get distracted by me."

She ignored him—or tried to—seeing that he began playing with her hair and got it in her face every five seconds. Minutes later when he sighed for the hundredth time she slammed her math book shut and glared at him.

"Don't you have anything better to do?" Julie asked sweetly.

"Do you not like spending time with me?" He pulled a sad face and she rolled her eyes, switching out her math homework for a science project that was due the next day.

"Why don't you go write music, or play something? I'm sure you've got tons of lyrics spinning around in your head."

"Nah I'm kind of in a writer's block." He propped himself up on an elbow, not all that far away from her face. "Besides, I'm nothing without you Molina."

He laughed when Julie realized what he was doing and pushed him back onto the comforter. "Don't mock Nick!"

"I would never mock cute little Nick."

"You're doing it right now!"

"No I'm being so serious," he said. She shook her head at him, staring down at her paper. Luke jumped off the bed, causing her to mess up and have to erase a word. "Besides, you really do make me a better writer."

Julie ignored him and the flattery until she noticed he was looking at her dream box.

"Luke, no!"

"You know what would make me an even better writer—"

"NO!"

"Sampling lyrics."

Julie leapt from bed, smacking his reaching hand away from her box. "Stop it! I'm serious Luke! Boundaries!"

"I'm not doing anything!" He raised his eyebrows and grinned, lifting high hands of surrender.

"You're being really annoying!"

Feigned hurt flashed through his features as she huffed and stomped back to her bed, sitting criss-cross with her back facing him.
