Chapter 246 - Birth of A Monster

Chapter Cover: Eve looking straight forward while her horns gave her a devilish look.

Groaning in pain, I was slowly coming back to myself. I can feel my ears ringing as the sounds around me were all muffled. I could feel like I was lying on something soft and feathery and it was somewhat soft yet I could feel it, like how it feel when I fall asleep upon one of my arms. Opening my eyes, I took in the situation of where I was.

I was lying down in a crater from the looks of it, and from the trees that were around me, I wasn't close to where I was when I was shot down from the sky. I pulled myself up to my feet, and I can feel something else in the air as well, almost like a calming effect of magic through the air and it was quite gentle in it's touch as well.

"You're awake," the man's voice spoke, "It's good that you are. It would be quite disastrous to lose a comrade so early in the battle."

A young man was seating there upon a fallen tree with both of his hands joined together in what look like he was praying. He had wild blond hair falling upon his face and he was quite handsome as well, a gentle serene smile upon his features as he was staring at me. He had a cross like emblem upon his forehead and was wearing pants but only had half of his upper body covered while the other side showed his well muscled form. Upon his back was a large cross-like shape weapon upon his back.

"When I heard that there was another one of my Father's creation among our ranks," the young man continued, "I was quite eager to meet you Venum, but my mission here had kept me busy until you arrived."

I stared at the young man, completely taken aback at what he was saying.

"Y…You're another of the Shields?" I asked him.

The young man stood up from where he was seating and approached me.

"I am," he said, "I am Larcade Dragneel, and I am his Majesty's Son."

Dragneel…I repeated, as the image of Natsu suddenly popped into my mind, This guy got the same name as Natsu…is he related to him in some way… wait…he said that he is Zeref son…

"You're Zeref son?" I repeated, "How can that be even possible?"

Larcade looked at me, his orange eyes remaining as calm as ever as he smiled lightly.

"I thought you could feel it Sister," he said, "You and I are alike after all."

I got back upon my feet, feeling my wings moving as well. The strange uncomfortable pain I had felt was that because I was lying upon one of them while I was unconscious. The young man, Larcade, seems to be waiting for me as I was fully back upon my feet and I raised my hand toward my head feeling it throbbing from the pain I was in.

"What about the others?" I asked, "Are they?"

"They are quite fine," he said, "Wall had managed to protect them from the attack of the Canon blast. Considering that you are the leader of this assault, he deemed it prudent to send me to look for you since you have been hit directly with it…strangely enough, your wounds aren't as severe as I expected."

I frowned lightly thinking about the blast of attack that had launched at my direction. I had managed to protect myself from the brunt of the attack but it's force had knocked me out of the sky. The enemy must have thought that I was killed in that blast if they didn't bother to sent someone after me…thought Larcade was there looking over my unconscious form…he must have been protecting me somehow.

"Take me to the others," I told him.

Larcade nodded to me and I followed after him for quite a few moments, walking together through the empty forest from the looks of it. As we were walking, however, something he had said earlier struck me as odd. He said that we were in the same but I don't ever think that I was similar to him in a way and there was the part that he said that Zeref was his father…
