Don't kill me ʘ‿ʘ
Doyoung got out of his bed.
He looked at the window and noticed it was pouring rain outside.
He walked over to his desk and reached out for his water bottle to drink. He drank and put it back down. Doyoung looked at his hand, the hand that hit Jihoon. His memory flashed back to when he threw the hit. He remembered the blood that flooded the floor after. Doyoung shut his eyes close and shook his head to push the memory away. He stared at his hands that were starting to uncontrollably tremble. He closed them into a fist and placed them close to his chest in attempt to stop the trembling. He turned around to see if Junghwan was still sleeping in his bed, and indeed he was.
Doyoung inhaled and exhaled a deep breath to calm himself. He sat down once his hands stopped shaking. He looked at his desk and saw one of his notebooks. There was a gap amongst the pages of the closed notebook. He figured he left a pen or pencil there and thought of flipping the notebook open to take the writing tool and put it back in his pencil case.
Doyoung did flip the notebook open. His eyes turned shaky and wide when he sees a writing on the page.
"You shouldn't have done that..." Doyoung read in a whisper.
It was written in a mess, like the person who wrote it used his non writing hand to purposely make it look ghastly in appearance. Doyoung shut the notebook close and looked around. He turned to Junghwan and he was still fast asleep.
He jumped in his seat when he heard knocking at their door.
Doyoung stayed silent and very still. The knocking continued. He didn't hear anyone's voice coming from outside to announce who they were.
He wanted to ask who it was but the possibility that it could be the ghost behind the close door trapped the question in his throat. So, he waited and waited. The knocking kept coming. It was not violent nor eerie in rhythm. It sounded normal. It was just that no one was talking which made it spookish.
Finally, the knocking stopped. Doyoung heard footsteps from outside that disappeared into the halls.
He let out a breath he had been holding and sighed relieved. He sat back again in his chair trying to collect his thoughts. The sound of rain outside still pouring helped accompany him to drown out the ringing silence and his raging heartbeat.
Doyoung was startled when the door was forced open, slamming hard against the wall connected to it. He fell to the floor on his butt and looked out towards the now open doorway. It was dark. He couldn't see anything. The lights weren't on.
Doyoung breathed heavily and waited for someone to come in. Minutes passed by and no one stepped inside just as he anticipated. He got up onto his feet. He looked over to Junghwan and marveled how he stayed asleep despite that clamorous noise. Doyoung paid him no attention anymore and cautiously went to the doorway to investigate. He first took his phone on his desk and turned on the flash to use it for light. There was no one standing there outside their door. He peeked outside, most of his body remained within the safety of their room. He stepped back in and turned off his phone, leaning on the doorway with one hand at the frame.
The door moved on its own again and slammed shut with Doyoung's hand still at the doorframe. He cried out loud in pain, pulling his hand back away after receiving the brutal impact. He looked at his hand enveloped in pain. He gasped out loud unable to express into words the agonizing feeling.
"Doyoung?" Junghwan finally woke up. "Doyoung?" He repeated.
Doyoung grunted and groaned. The tears he tried to hold back finally gushed out his eyes uncontrollably.
