A teacher entered into the classroom.

She walked through the front door that led to the side of the room with the chalkboard. She wasn't looking up and wasn't fully aware of her surroundings as she was focused on the papers she held in her hands.

"Good morning Ma'am."

"Oh fuu—! You scared me!" The teacher hollered almost cursing. She fixed her hold on the papers that almost dropped out of her reach.

"What are you doing here so early? None of your friends or other classmates are even here yet." The teacher said. She put down the papers on the table so she wouldn't accidentally drop them and get the papers crumpled or dirtied.

"I just came early because I want to. The classroom and the halls are usually so quiet at this hour just right before the day starts." The student replied.

"Okay, well, next time don't come up to me like this again. You and I could have almost ruined the test papers for your class' incoming exams." The teacher scolded lightly.

"Of course Maam. It won't happen again."

The next day the teacher came in early again. She wanted to check in on the classroom to see if the cleaners she assigned from yesterday fulfilled their duties. She jumped from surprised again when she caught sight of a person sitting on one of the chairs all by themselves.

"Oh my God... you scared me. You're here early again." The teacher said.

"Yes Ma'am. But I did not mean to scare you. I didn't come up so suddenly from behind you just like you told me yesterday." The student said.

The teacher nodded taking a deep breath.

"Yes, yes. Today was my bad. I just didn't expect you here again." The teacher said.

"I apologize Ma'am." The student stood up to bow.

"Oh, no. It's okay." The teacher waved her hand. "At least now I'm fully well aware and will be expecting you here tomorrow early again." She joked and chuckled.

The student also laughed.

"Did you come in here to check or look for something Ma'am?" The student asked.

"Yes, I came here to check if the cleaners from yesterday did their jobs well. It would seem like they did." The teacher concluded after assessing the classroom.

"Ah, I actually finished cleaning up. I mean...I already made sure of it that they did clean the room up well." The student stuttered.

The teacher looked at him. An eyebrow raised in question over his first sentence.

She urged him to talk more and the student admitted that the students from yesterday didn't do their job that well and so he had to finish it for them before she came in to check. The student cleaners got a scolding that day.

The next day, the teacher was prepared and expected a certain student to be probably in his assigned seat. And just as she had anticipated the student was indeed there

"Good morning Ma'am." The boy greeted his teacher as she came in.

"Good morning." She smiled.

The two conversed with each other with small talk that they could relate to with each other. Day by day this continued, with both early birds in the company of the quiet hours before the busy day of school.
