"Where are you two?" Hyunsuk stressed.
Jihoon took back his phone from Junkyu and answered it. He did that because he thought Junkyu might not want to reveal their location.
"Outside the school grounds. We're in the woods, somewhere by a clearing." He said.
"We're coming there. Don't hang up." Hyunsuk said.
"Okay." Jihoon muttered.
He could hear from the other line there was shuffling. Jihoon could only guess it was Hyunsuk and the others hurrying to come to them. He put his attention back to the fire. The board continued to be burnt into ashes. The supposed normal sound of fire crackling wood started to make odd sounds. There was something else that lingered along the noise, the sound of crying.
Junkyu and Jihoon looked at each other then back at the fire. They watched as the calm flames began to turn aggressive and painful howling screams of anguish start to reach their ears. The golden orange fire was shifting from red to green and then back to orange. The two slowly stepped back as the screams got louder and the fire grew wilder.
"Jihoon..." Junkyu whispered in a trembling voice.
"We should go." Jihoon whispered back.
Amongst the loud screams, they heard a branch snapping from somewhere just near. They turned their heads upwards and looked into the dark woods. Jihoon squinted his eyes to see better. From the bushes by the trees a few feet near them he could see a tall figure of a human silhouette. The face of it he couldn't make out because of the darkness that shrouded it. If only it could step closer for the fire to reach it and illuminate its face then maybe they could see who it was.
"Hello?" Jihoon bravely called out to the person.
"Jihoon..." Junkyu whispered again, holding onto the arm of his friend.
They waited tensely for the figure to make a move. But it didn't move at all for the next few minutes. The absolute stillness of the atmosphere felt suffocating to the two as they unconsciously held their breaths and kept their feet stuck to where they stood. They should be running away now to be far from whatever danger could spring out but the two were just stuck frozen in place.
A rustling sound came from the bushes where the figure stood and Jihoon flinched from that. Junkyu tensed up. They didn't say anything. Both were too distracted to notice that the screaming sound from the fire died down and both failed to notice the Ouija board that was engulfed in flames, didn't seem to be affected at all. Then, the rustling sound came again. Jihoon and Junkyu watched the figure suddenly drop to the ground.
They both backed away a little, scared of what would happen next. Something then came out rolling from the bushes. They couldn't distinguished it yet as it was dark and kept rolling and rolling over until it stopped right beside the fire and showed itself to them.
Junkyu backed away screaming and fell to the ground on his butt. Jihoon felt like fainting and puking at the sight of a decapitated head of a face they couldn't quite recognize. The flesh already looked rotten with maggots eating it away from the empty eye sockets that had been sewn shut with thread along with its mouth as well. But besides all that, the head, it was moving, it wriggled around like it was squirming and muffled noises of screaming were coming from its sewn mouth.
Another thing came out the bushes and it was the headless body, crawling itself towards them slowly before springing at them like a predator after its prey. It pounced at them and directly aimed itself right at Jihoon but he jumped to the side avoiding it. He didn't notice that he dropped his phone and completely forgot about it.
