SONIC POV:

THE NEXT MORNING:

I saw Tom waiting for me downstairs.

Do I have a choice to go? No.

I rolled my eyes as I started making my way down the staircase.

"This better be worth me getting up early." I groaned.

"Oh trust me, it is." Tom smiled.

We started making our way towards the door, but before actually heading out, Tom grabs his cap which I'm not surprised about since it's pretty hot outside.

"Alright, let's go!" Tom exclaimed.

We entered his truck and I buckled my seatbelt of course, Tom was about to until he jumped up in surprise. I turned to him in question.

"Right! How could I possibly forget the most important thing!?" Tom jumped out of his seat and ran to the garage.

"Well that's strange.." I said to myself.

Before I knew it, Tom returned with two fishing poles, placing them in the trunk. My eyes widened.

"Alright buddy, you ready to go." Tom asked.

"We're going fishing?" I asked, staring blankly out in front of me.

"Yeah! Isn't that great!?" He answered.

Before I got to say anything at all, Tom started the engine and we drove off.

During the car ride, I thought about many things. Family, friends, love. I question a lot about love, even though it may not seem like it. I don't think Tails knows that I'd ever like to experience such a thing. I guess I was too nervous to talk about it with him, especially since..

I'm attracted to both men & women.

I haven't even talked about it with Tom or Maddie. Though, now that I'm here.. would it be a good time to tell him? Would he even accept the fact that I'm the way I am? Or would he think I'm strange?

I frowned at the thought.

No.. I'm not ready to tell him. I'm not ready to tell anyone. What I do know is that I want someone who's willing to go on adventures with me, take bubble baths with me, and hey, maybe we could mess around with Eggman. I smiled to myself just by thinking about it.

"We're here Sonic!"

What a way to knock me out of my thoughts.

Me and Tom got out of the car, and I couldn't believe my eyes. This lake in front of me, was absolutely beautiful to look at. I felt the fresh breeze all around and smelled the scent of pine trees. It feels great to be outdoors. Heck, I don't even care if it's fishing anymore, I'm just glad I'm out of the house.

"Cmon Sonic, there's a boat right over there! Here, take this. It was mine when I was your age." He smiled as I took it. Tom ran towards the boat happily and I followed.

Once we got on the boat, it was only pure silence between us. Pretty awkward if you ask me. The view in front of me was distracting, so it wasn't too bad. As much as I didn't want to, I chose to break the silence.

"So.. what did you want to talk about?"

"About your behavior." Tom replied.

I regret asking.

"My behavior?" I repeated.

"Yes Sonic, you've been pushing it too far this time." He turned to face me.

"How?!" I asked.

"How?! You literally don't ask permission to leave the house, you come back at a late time, and you drag Tails along with you! Don't you think that's wrong?"

"I can take care of myself!"

"No you can't! That is what's worrying me sick Sonic! You're too reckless, how long is it until you make a mistake and the government finds you?!" Tom yelled.

"I can't stand this anymore." I said as I stood up.

"That's another thing Sonic, everytime we talk to you.. you always try to run away from it!"

"I know you want to say it.. so just do it. It won't hurt." I said, looking out in front of me.

"What? Say what?.." Tom questioned.

"An absolute pain in the behind! That I'm a burden!Say it Tom!" I yelled.

"What?! No. That's not what I'm trying to say.."

"It seems like it! If I'm such a burden why don't you just abandon me?! Right here, on this boat! I screamed, stepping back away from Tom.

"Sonic, stop it.." Tom said.

"Oh now who's running from a conversation? Cmon Tom, leave me! Leave me be!"

"I SAID THATS ENOUGH." Tom stood up. It made me stumble back a little in fear. I pushed it..

"Sonic watch out!" Tom warned me.

Before I realized it, I was at the edge of the boat & I slipped. I panicked as soon as I hit the water.

"Sonic!" Tom screamed in absolute fear. He quickly grabbed me by the arm and pulled me back up onto the boat. I gasped for air and started coughing out the water that I accidentally swallowed.

"Sonic, my goodness.. I'm so glad you're okay." Tom hugged me tightly. For some reason..

I couldn't hug in return.

The car ride back home was also quiet. None of us spoke a single word.. not after what had happened. I never knew that I was such a handful to Tom.

It broke me.

When we returned home, I went straight to my room. I didn't say anything to Maddie or Tails.

I stared at the ceiling for hours, arms crossed behind my head, and a frown that laid across my face. I placed my hands on my face in frustration.

Why am I like this?

I don't want anyone to worry about me, I don't want anyone to look after me.. because I don't listen. I never do. I then look at the ceiling window
and I smiled softly.

I know what to do.

I came across the ceiling window and let myself out. I looked back at my room and then at the view ahead of me. This is all for my family.. I'll show them I can take care myself. I won't be such a handful anymore.

I head off to the woods. I know they'll come looking for me. But I do know a lot of hiding places that they'll never end find, not even Tails knows.

It's really dark out here, and I have poor eyesight when it comes to the dark. I tap my foot on the ground and look at my surroundings all around me.

My ears then perk up, I hear something near me. Could it be Crazy Carl? No, it couldn't be. He knows of my existence and he trusts me now. Or worse.. the government?

I start running quickly, without stopping one bit. If the government wants me, they're gonna have to catch up to me if they can.

Though.. it doesn't seem like they're slowing down. I can still hear them which is concerning. I take a glance behind me to see a bright red light.

Oh well that's not good.

I yelled in pain as I tripped on a rock and hit my face flat onto the groaned. Before I could even get up..

I get pinned on the ground.
