KNUCKLES POV:

"Knuckles.." Sonic said weakly.

"Yeah! Im right here.." I slightly smiled. "We got the emerald Sonic, we did it for you.. all for you."

"I'm glad.. I'm so glad." Tears started to fill up his eyes.

"Don't cry.." I brushed away a tear that already slid down his check.

I despised seeing him like this, he looks worse than before.. he looks a lot more pale.

"After this.. you'll feel a lot better. I can promise you that." I grabbed his hand gently.

"Knuckles.. I don't think I'm gonna make it.." He coughed.

"Don't say that, with the emerald.. you will!" I cried out.

Sonic pulled his hand from my own and placed it on my face.

"I love you."

My eyes widened.

"I love absolutely everything about you, Knuckles. Your strength, your kindness, your beauty, your bravery.. all that. I love you so much." He said as another tear slid down his face.

I felt a huge lump in my throat. I was fighting it, I want to tell him.. I want to!

"Pass me the emerald, Tails." I said.

Tails came forward but before I was going to grab it, I placed Sonic on the ground.

"Sonic.." I softly said.

His eyelids were closed shut.

"Sonic?!" I panicked once more.

I quickly placed my head on his chest again, but this time..

He wasn't breathing.

"No... no!" I grabbed the emerald from Tails.

"Is he?!.." Tails cried out.

"Of course not! We can still make it! Cmon, cmon, how do you use this thing?!" I shouted.

The last thing I expected happened.. The Master Emerald starts to fade in color and proceeds to break and fall into pieces, with the smaller emeralds falling out of the remains.

"What? No. No, no, no, no! No, no, no, no!" I yelled.

Tails turned away, he couldn't bare seeing his best friend gone.

"Sonic.. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry I wanted to destroy you in the beginning, but that was before I got to know you! Sonic, when I spent time with you.. I saw how beautiful you were, with those bright green eyes of yours, how adventurous you are, how silly you are, and your courage.. I love all that." I now felt tears dripping down my own face now.

"I love you, Sonic."

I lean towards him, placed my hands on his cheeks.. and kissed him like he once did to me.

"Knuckles.. the emeralds.." I heard Tails say.

I didn't want this moment to end, this is the first and  last time that I'll be able to do this.

I start to see a bright light while my eyes are closed, that's how bright it is.. and I feel some hands on own.

I quickly pull away and see Sonic... he looks different. Sonic now has golden fur, with bright red eyes.

"Sonic?! Is that you?.." I softly asked, placing a hand on my cheek.

Sonic grabbed me by the face and starting giving me kisses all over my face repeatedly.

"Of course it's me.." He smiled brightly.

"And you're alive?.."

"Uhh.. I think so." Sonic said as he flexed his fingers.

"Sonic.." Tails also had tears in his eyes.

"Hey buddy!.. " Sonic floated over to Tails and gave him a hug, and Tails didn't hesitate to hug back.

"I thought I lost you." Tails cried.

"Never, I wouldn't abandon you ever."

SONIC POV:

"We got to get home!" I exclaimed.

Before we can make another action, The Giant Eggman Robot looms right over Knuckles, Tails, and I.

"I thought we destroyed that thing!" Knuckles shouted.

"Don't worry guys, I'll stop him! Tails, please check if Tom and Maddie are okay."

"On it!" Tails said as he flew away.

"Knuckles, please go with him." I said.

"What?! No. I'm not leaving you!" Knuckles replied.

"I just lost you Sonic, how do expect me to leave?!"

I flew towards him, we faced each other like we did in our encounters and I grabbed his face again.

"You never lost me, Knuckles. Don't you see? I heard you telling me that you love me! You don't know how happy I felt to hear that... I even felt the kiss you gave me." I smirked at him.

"And a kiss that I'd give you again, again, and again." Knuckles answered.

In response, I pressed my lips on his.

"Please go.."

"Fine.." Knuckles said as he ran after Tails.

I then fly towards the Giant Eggman Robot's head, and decapitated it, exposing Robotnik, who gapped in disbelieving shock at what he is seeing is a whole different look on me approached him and hovered just in front of the edge of the Giant Eggman Robot's neck, my face locked in a look of righteous anger.

"It's over, Eggman."

"I like the new look. It works for you. " He nervously smiled. "What do you say we just let bygones be bygones? I did some things, you did some things. There are good people on both sides."

I don't say anything glare furiously at him. Then Eggman puts a hand behind his back.

"Surely two intelligent beings... can work these things out!"

An attempt, Robotnik tries to punch me with the Giant Eggman Robot's fist. I blocked the fist with one hand, without even turning my attention to it, and blew it up. Robotnik is terrified upon seeing me easily taking out his robot's fist and arm single-handedly.

"With a second attempt, Robotnik tries to punch me with the Giant Eggman Robot's second fist, but I blew it up as well, and proceeded to zip straight through the Giant Eggman Robot multiple times, delivering heavy damage to it. As a final move, I tip the Giant Eggman Robot over with a tap of his foot.

"Oh, it's like that?" He said and I scowl in response.

"Okay, we're not friends."

The Giant Eggman Robot started to fall over and Robotnik falls off its platform.

"Later, hater!!" Was the last thing that was going to ever come from him.

The giant Eggman robot collapsed onto the ground.

Defeated.
