Separation.

LISTEN TO THE SONG WITH THIS CHAPTER!

TAILS POV:

"Here, we'll catch up to that giant robot by flying towards it and then we'll see if you can get the emerald away from Robotnik."

"Got it!" Knuckles said as he started making his way off the building we're on and I quickly grabbed Knuckles by the arm.

"You're really heavy!.." I struggled.

"That's because I am one-million percent muscle! Faster, fox!" He yelled and I rolled my eyes in response.

Once we got closer to the robot, we landed safely onto its head.

"Okay, we're here. Now what?" Knuckles asked.

"We have to figure out how to get inside." I said, pulling a gadget from my back. "I'm pretty sure there's a way." I started scanning the robot's head.

"HEY ROBOT, YOO HOO! DOWN HERE."

"Is that?.." Me and Knuckles both looked at each other.

Knuckles and I quickly ran to the slight edge of the robot's head to see that our assumption was correct.

It was Sonic.

"What's Sonic doing here?" Knuckles asked with a concerned look.

"He knows how to drive?!" I asked.

"He's trying to help us, even with that terrible state he's in." Knuckles softly said.

"I found a way in!" I cried out. Knuckles didn't bother to look at the entrance I found and kept looking at Sonic.

I grabbed his arm.

"Don't you dare! We're so close! I know you want to help him but I need you." I said.

"But he's in terrible shape! I have to-"

"I want this to be over as much as you do.." I sighed. He doesn't say anything but nodded and finally followed me to the entrance. 

SONIC POV:

Now, my driving skills aren't the best.. BUT it's better to get your hands on the wheel than anything at all.

If Robotnik is chasing me, then just means that he think I have a slight chance of stopping him.. and he doesn't want a slight chance.

He wants no chance of me stopping him.

I just have to get him away from Green Hills, I can't have him causing more destruction than he already has on this poor town.

I placed a hand on my chest.

"This isn't good.. it's like- it's like it's coming closer."

I wonder if Tails and Knuckles are on the robot, huh?

Planning to get the emerald face to face, I see.

I start to make plenty of turns in order to confuse Robotnik on where I'm going and I see a bridge up ahead.

"I'm tired of driving in this darn car, I'm going to have a word with him.. whether it's a life or death situation!"

Once I make it to the end of the bridge, I step on the break and quickly get out of the car. Robotnik is on the other side of the bridge.

"Yoo-hoo! So what's the plan here? You gonna build a big robot house? Get yourself a big robot wife?" I said, sarcastically being encouraging towards him.

"I'm going to enslave humanity and force them to service my machines. First Green Hills, then the universe, then the multiverse, then who knows?! Maybe that'll be enough. Full disclosure?....You won't be there." He answered.

Robotnik started making his way towards me once more, and I quickly rushed back into the car.

"That sure was something!.." I said nervously, and started to pick up the pace on the pedal.

I quickly looked at the side mirror and see that Robotnik is super close to me, he was able to get across the bridge at a quick speed.

"No.. not right now, not right now." I panicked as I felt blood dripping from my mouth. I started to feel lightheaded..

I looked back at the side mirror and see a fist raising up to ground and know what's about to happen.

The Giant Eggman Robot punched the ground, sending the truck flying until it is on its back.

Everything turned black then.

TAILS POV:

"I have an idea.." I whispered to Knuckles. "I got this..but get to your position."

"Giving up already? Not so tough when you're fighting someone 700 times your size, are ya? You can't beat me! I'm all-powerful! All-knowing! All-seeing." He said, he turned his head towards me.

I start to summon several holograms as they emerge into the head of the robot.

"Looks like your fancy robot has a glitch!" I laughed.

The holograms surround Robotnik as he tries to find the real me.

"Is it me? What about me? I'm over here! Up top! Down below! Behind you! I'm over here! Sorry! Over here! Too slow!" I laughed at him some more.

"You can't outsmart me.. I'm the outsmarter-er!" He shouted, releasing a green shockwave, obliterating the holograms and making me hit a wall and landing on one of the pipes.

"I didn't outsmart you, I'm just the distraction."

KNUCKLES POV:

"Robotnik!" I shouted. Robotnik looked up to see me standing across from him.

"How could you?! You lied to me, you lied to me about everything!" I yelled.

"Yeah? And it worked perfectly! But tell you what, since you were such a magnificent help.. I'll let you join me! Eliminate this fox and we can work together to eliminate this society." Robotnik replied.

"Tell me the truth.." I groaned. "Was it really me who's causing Sonic to die?!"

"You still don't get it, do you?" Robotnik slapped a palm onto his forehead. "I made Sonic this way! He's dying from the amount of blood he's losing! Don't you see? Without him, I can finally be all powerful. I just made you think that it was your fault so that you could stay away from him! and focus on what needed to be done. I knew you had some sort of care of him, but I really thought you would push it aside.."

"You're going to pay for admitting that to me, Robotnik." I cracked my knuckles and prepared for a charge.

"This is for Sonic."

I charged towards Robotnik with one powerful punch to the chest, and I managed to separate the Master Emerald from him. Without the Master Emerald, the Giant Eggman Robot powered down, unable to function without it.

"Tails, give me a hand! This thing is about to fall down!" I yelled. Without hesitation, Tails quickly flew towards me and grabbed my hand, flying out the entrance we came from.

Once we flew out, the robot fell backwards and caused the ground to aggressively shake.

"We got to get to Sonic fast! He's over there, hurry fox! Hurry!" I panicked.

Once we got closer to the ground, I quickly let go of Tails' hand and started running towards Sonic.

"Sonic, no!" I went closer to the truck and saw his body on the seat, completely unconscious.

I grabbed Sonic's body from the seat and placed him on my lap.

"Sonic! Sonic! Please wake up!.."

I placed my head on his chest to see if I felt a heartbeat from him.. and thank goodness, I did. I gently patted his left cheek in order for him to get up.

"Knuckles.."
