Asher & Sofia

Asher

Standing here right beside her means the world to me. It's enough for me to simply see her standing by my side right now. I was ready to endure anything just to see her happy, and now no one can stop us from being together.

"Can I hold your hand?" I asked, somewhat nervously. She chuckled. "Yes, you can hold my hand, but we can't do anything else."

"Those things don't matter to me. All I'm asking for is to have you standing right now, beside me." I smiled.

Something shines brightly in her eyes whenever she smiles which somehow comforts me and helps to make me feel at ease. That's how I'm feeling right now as I watch her smile like that.

"You look adorable when you smile." I whispered as I ran my fingers through her soft hair. Her eyes widened, and her cheeks reddened. We stayed silent for a long time, staring at each other.

"I can't believe we're finally together," she paused before adding, "I've been waiting for this moment my entire life." She lowered her head.

"If my younger self knew we are together now, she would start jumping with joy." She beamed, and I immediately started picturing a laughing, leaping little Amelia. I chuckled at the thought of her.

"Same here." I tilted her chin so she could look me in the eyes. "My younger self would love to see us together."

"I should thank Sofia every day for giving me the opportunity to see you again." I find it difficult to think of a life without her. She became everything in my life. She completes me.

"I won't let go of you ever again." I kissed her forehead, and she was surprised by the sudden movement.

"You should go inside before you catch a cold." I smiled, and she nodded in response to my words. She waved at me as she walked toward the door. I drove away once she was safely inside.

Traffic is always my worst enemy in the morning. I get up in a good mood, but that quickly disappears when I'm stuck in traffic.

I arrived late, which means I'll have to deal with Sofia and Henry's nonstop yelling. I heard Sofia shouting once the elevator doors opened, but it wasn't for me. As soon as I saw a disgusting sight of someone, my blood started to boil.

Sofia

It was like any other morning. I woke up, made breakfast for myself and Luke, dressed with Luke, and then left him with Amelia.

I always try to arrive earlier than Asher just to see his irritated face as I yell at him for being late. Henry was also here. We were the first to arrive, followed by a few other employees. Everything was perfectly normal.

When I heard the elevator door open, I turned around, happy to be able to yell at him again for being late. When I saw who was in the elevator, my smile disappeared. Henry was standing next to me, and he knew exactly who that person was.

He's... "Sofia, my dear, I missed you so much." He approached me with a smile, as if nothing had happened between us. Before I knew it, Henry was standing in front of me, covering me from him. I muttered a thank you to him, and he nodded.

"You have no right to speak with Ms. Harper in this manner, Mr. Blake." The devil laughed in response to Henry's words. "And who are you to talk to me in that way? I'm talking to my wife, so step aside and mind your own business." He started shouting at Henry, who had only been making sure I was safe from that man.

"Your wife?" I laughed at his words, then said, "If I were really your wife, you wouldn't have left me for that woman. If I were really your wife, I wouldn't have walked into your office and caught you both doing who knows what." I made sure I was standing in front of him while speaking.

"If I were really your wife..." I dropped my head, paused, and then added, "You would've known how much my love for you only hurt me." I finally looked him in the eyes. "Was I not enough for you? Didn't I deserve the same love you gave her?" I yelled, making sure he could hear me.

"If you're here to ask me to get back together, just go back to her." I paused and moved even closer to him. "Because I no longer need you. I have people who actually care about me." I smiled at the thought of all the people that are by my side.

"You really thought I'd let you walk away this time?" Asher said as he approached him. Before I knew it, he had grabbed his neck and slammed him against a wall. We all just stood there because we knew he deserved it.

I smiled as I saw my brother avenge me against that jerk. I used to stop him, but now I'll just stand here and watch. Those bodyguards tried to stop Asher, but Henry dealt with them. Asher obviously won the fight, and Peter walked away bruised and just left.

Asher seemed to be fine, but Henry wasn’t. Asher approached me and started checking me after confirming that he had left. "Are you okay? He didn't do anything to you, did he?" He started looking for wounds. "I'm fine; I should have asked you if you were hurt." I said. He sighed as he hugged me.

"If you're fine, then I am too," We both started laughing at our own words. Another voice cut us off. "Sir, they've arrived." Asher nodded and walked away. I approached Henry, who was looking for something in his office. "I'll bandage your wounds." I said. He refused at first, but he had no choice but to accept in the end.

He sat in his chair, and I gently began treating his wounds. "I'm sorry you got involved in this." I was the first to speak.

"You don't have to apologize.  I would gladly do it again." He said it softly. "Sofia." He called and bowed his head. "I'm really sorry for what you've gone through." I gave him a warm smile. "It's okay. It's not your fault."

"You deserved a better man than him." He said. His eyes were filled with rage. "I know." I smiled. He's acting strangely today.

"I can't hide this any longer, Sofia. I..." He was about to say something when I interrupted him. "All done. We should get back to work straight away." I smiled, and he nodded. I closed his office door and stood there, gathering my thoughts.

He was about to confess to me!
