I never imagined that I might someday show my parents the love of my life, yet that day has come. I've spent the last few years working and looking after Luke and Sofia.

We just picked up my parents from the airport. I've told them everything there is to know about her, that they almost feel she's one of us. She will be soon.

She still blushes when I call her my wife. I can't wait to marry her and live with her under the same roof. We haven't seen each other in a while since she has been busy with wedding preparations.

I've been thinking about her lately and I can't wait to see her. We're heading to her house, where our parents will meet for the very first time since my parents were abroad.

"Don't worry, Mom; you'll love her. She's so sweet and adorable, and her smile is beautiful." Sofia described. She's right; everything about her is perfect, and I can't wait to see her smile again.

"I'm certain she's as perfect as you both described her to me. I can't believe a girl changed both of your lives, and even Luke's," my mother said, sighing. She looked at Luke, who had already fallen asleep in her lap.

"Yes, mom, she's amazing." I smiled, and my sister nodded in agreement.

When we arrived at her house, I suddenly remembered our old memories together.

"Luke, wake up. It's finally time to meet Amelia." Sofia called Luke. Once Luke heard Amelia's name, he jumped out of the backseat then rushed out of the car, which made us laugh. He's more excited to see her than I am.

We rang the doorbell, and a woman opened it. I believe she is Stella, Amelia's older sister. She smiled as she welcomed us inside.

She was nowhere to be found. Her parents walked out of the living room to greet us, followed by Evelyn, her middle sister. This is my first time meeting her. She did not look like either of her sisters.

I was about to ask about her when I heard footsteps on the stairs next to me. I turned around just as she was walking down the stairs.

She was wearing a white midi dress with sleeves. Even in a simple dress like this, she looked absolutely gorgeous. I was surprised to see her wearing light makeup. She never wore makeup. She looked stunning with or without it.

She smiled at me, but I was too stunned to return it. Our parents had walked into the living room. We just stood there alone.

"You smell nice," I paused, then added, "No words can describe how beautiful you are." I ran my fingers through her hair, which made her laugh.

"You're always so good with words." She said this through her laugh.

"Only with you, my wife." I smirked, expecting her to get embarrassed again, but I was shocked to see her smile at me while keeping intense eye contact.

"Hello there, lovers. Sorry to burst your bubble, but we need you inside." Evelyn said with a neutral face. We both nodded and began making our way inside.

The living room was a total mess. Luke and Lily were fighting over the tv. Our parents were having a serious conversation. Sofia and Stella seemed to be getting along, while Evelyn was on her phone.

"Oh, there they are—the main characters. Come over here." My father said so, and we both walked over to him.

"It's all fun and games until you have your first child, then everything changes. It's still a good feeling, but because it's the first time, it's always the most difficult because you have to do it properly." My father said, and they all nodded in agreement.

"What about you, young lady? Why are you still single?" My father asked.

"No thanks. I'm not interested in marriage." Evelyn replied.

"Why so?" My father asked once again.

"I just want to be alone." She sighed.

"Well, since the lovebirds have arrived, we should start talking." Sofia said, breaking the long silence. We all nodded and took our seats.

"Mrs. Oliver..." I was interrupted.

"Please call us by our names, since we are now family." Her mother said this with a smile.

I hesitated before saying, "Layla." I spoke to her mother. "It is my wish to spend the rest of my life with your daughter." After a short pause, I continued, "If it's alright with you, I would love to hear your thoughts about my intention and I'd like to get your blessings."

"Of course, we would love to have a wonderful son-in-law like yourself." Layla said with a smile. "But we have to ask the bride-to-be, right?" She glanced at Amelia.

"It's obviously a yes. Was there ever any doubt?" She chuckled, and I almost ran up to her and hugged her tightly.

"Congratulations, Hannah and Joseph. We've finally become a family." Layla said this to my parents, and they smiled.

Everyone was delighted, even Luke, who ran to her and hugged her. "Are you finally my aunty?" His whole face lit up as he spoke. She nodded as a response, and he smiled brightly.

"No, you can't steal her from me. She's my aunt only." Lily said this with a frown. They started fighting again, but this time it was over Amelia.

We heard Layla say, "The wedding date is then decided. It will be on the..."

It was past midnight when we decided to leave. It was extremely difficult to just walk away because we had all grown very attached to them.

It was a good thing Luke fell asleep after dinner since he would have begun crying while leaving. I didn't even get a chance to see her alone. We only said our goodbyes with words.

Still, this was an unforgettable day. The wedding planning will finally begin. We will just have to wait a few months until we're living together under the same roof.
